For my birthday next year were taking a trip to Disney World :yay: and I'm completely stumped on where we should eat dinner on my birthday! We'll be spending the day in the Magic Kingdom and I'd always thought it would be fun to eat at Cinderella's Royal Table, but dining out during Wishes might be pretty amazing too!! So which would you choose?

Me and my mom are both vegetarians if that changes anything!

Thanks! :D

We are vegetarians and will be in WDW in October for my birthday. I chose CG hands down! I have had the vegetarian option at CRT. It was alright. A little too much salt and only one choice. You will get much more variety at CG. Have a wonderful birthday!:)

CRT is a FAMILY tradition... I *Heart* it....

Tried CG last May 2010.... :thumbsup2

I believe you can view Wishes from Both....Im sure the experience is VERY different however....

Based on experience ... I'd say CRT... you can't beat eating at the castle...:worship:

However based on Food... I'd agree with PP.... You'll probably have many options at CG and very few options at CRT....

Happy Birthday in advance !

Mary

Hands down California Grill..... the food is not even on the same planet as the royal table. (Plus i think you will find the chefs will be able to do more for vegetarians at the grill), the atmosphere is great, wishes....Worth every penny......
Now Cinderella's Royal Table??? food, just not good, , yes you have the great view of the carousel and your in the castle, You did not see how old you are going to be the royal table is really great for 8 year old princesses, but honestly....my vote still would sooo be California Grill...have a blast... happy early next birthday!!!!

I think both are incredible, but CG more so. CG is a real dining experience. CRT is an attraction almost. It's cool to eat in the castle and the food is decent. CG is a culinary pleasure and a visual one if you go out on the balcony to watch the fireworks.

What kind of experience were you going for?

Cali Grill, no contest. The food is amazing, and they have good veg options. The views of Wishes (and of WDW) are wonderful.

I haven't been to CRT in years and years, but you're paying to dine IN the castle and meet characters there - the food isn't why one goes there. You also can't really see any fireworks from inside the restaurant, nor is there an outdoor viewing area.

I think you'll have better options at CA Grill to eat, CRT's menu is pretty limited.

If you're going for characters and castle experience, pick CRT. You'd probably have to compromise on the food to get the experience though. If you're more interested in the food, pick CG.

I agree with the others and say that you will have a better vegetarian selection at CG than at CRT. However, we really like dining at both for dinner so that would be a hard one to choose from, but then again non of us are vegetarians either. Good luck deciding and have a wonderful birthday trip :goodvibes

Agreed.

Thanks for all the replies!!

After looking at both menus I realized how limited CRT's choices are.... Definitely leaning toward CG, those flat bread's look yummy! We might just try CRT for breakfast one day....

California Grill, no question. I've never been to CRT, but have heard the food is mediocre. You can see princesses elsewhere :)

California Grill is AMAZING. My new favorite restaurant! It's great for vegetarians, too.

We went to both on our honeymoon. I was disappointed at CRT, but the CG was awesome. Our waiter timed it so that we were finishing dinner when the fireworks began and brought us our dessert when they were over. We still talk about our experience there 6 yrs later!

Plus they dim the lights and play the music for the show in the restraunt. We never left our table.

For a party of adult vegetarians, I would definitely say CG. CRT is very special and everyone should do it once, but dinner at CG in time to see the fireworks would be amazing.

definitely the CG. WE went to both last year and like the others have said, CRT is more for the younger princesses. We reserved the CG an hour before the fireworks and enjoyed a drink and the appetizers first and then the waiter held our order for the main dishes so we could take our drinks(champagne since we were celebrating myDD 21st birthday)outside and watched the fireworks. After we continued on with the amazing meal. It was a magical night. Wishing you a magical evening in advance.

going vegetarian i'd say california grill. plus let them know this when you make your adr and it may give you more options. save crt for another meal. it's one of those places that you want to eat at least once...what disney fan wouldn't want to be able to say they ate in the castle right??? but for a great meal for an adult between the two i'd pick california grill.
