Hello. I was thinking about doing CG, but was wondering what you can order there on the 2008 DDP. Is the sushi considered the entree? Or can you order a first coarse and an entree? I know you no longer get the appetizer, but it seems silly to use two dining credits on just an entree and dessert. Thanks for any help!

Wow 2 TS credits for an $18 sushi tray, I think I will pass and stick with Narcossee's. Thanks for the info though.

How about on the DxDDP? Are there limitations on which appetizers you can order?

We were also wondering about the California Grill. We have booked there for April on DDP and looking at the menu it's just not worth 2 credits. I suppose you pay for the view. We are still undecided about going or not.

We had dinner at CG using the deluxe plan two weeks ago. One member of our family did order sushi as an appetizer. As I recall, only one sushi item was excluded. I'll check the menu and report back but you can order sushi on the deluxe.

Excellent information! Thanks for clearing that up.

No problem.:goodvibes

Yoshi's Deluxe platter was excluded. But I wonder if Snake in the Grass was also. It's $22 and the platter is $24. Sorry can't remember if it was excluded also. But it didn't matter for us. We love CG and had another excellent meal there.

I believe that the Sushi is not considered an appetizer on the DxDDP.
Was just at California Grill on the DxDDP 2 weeks ago. All but the 2 most expensive Sushis are considered appetizers (the 2 most expensive are entrees). My wife ordered sushi as an appetizer, and another entree.

But, on the regular DDP is the sushi considered an entree? I suppose you could also pay for the sushi and then order an entree, but that seems hardly worth the 2 TS credits. Thanks for the info though.

Only the 2 most expensive sushi are considered an entree for Dining Plan purposes. So, you could get a regular entree or a big sushi platter plus a dessert.

There are smaller sushi rolls you could pay for OOP. I'll be on DxDDP this time and think I'll pick a traditional appetizer, sushi for entree, and dessert. The sushi I had for an appetizer last time was sooo much food! (I did still manage to eat my entree though... :rolleyes1)

On the basic dining plan, you are entitled ONLY to one entree and one dessert. If you choose sushi for the dining plan, it will be your entree.

Thanks, I may not even want sushi, but wanted to know just in case I did. What else is REALLY good at California Grill?

We just returned days ago

2 Sushi platters are NOT apps but entrees and it was Yoshi's and Snake in the Grass. DH had the snake for his meal

Snake in the grass is a shrimp tempura roll with avocado, eel and cucumber. They slice it but keep the slices together in the roll, so it sort of looks like a snake with the shrimp tails sticking out the ends.

California Grill is phenomenal and is one of the reasons that we intend to do the DxDP. We will be doing 5 different signature restaurants. The menu is definitely worth the credits, at least for us.
