We (family of 4) have 5:40 reservations at California Grill this August. Could we have dinner, go back to the MK for a few hours and then back to CG to watch fireworks? Is there enough time to do this? Dumb idea? Try for earlier reservations? With kids (6 & 8) we want to try to stick to our normal dinner time.

Be honest. This is our first time to WDW (as adults) and want to catch the fireworks from a few vantage points to make the trip as special as possible. THANKS!

Yes you can, just keep your dining receipt and go back to the podium at the appropriate time. Make sure one of your vantage points for viewing Wishes is also inside the park, its the best.

Would we have enough time to go back to MK and get back to CG? I assume dinner will last about an hour or so.

Thanks!

What time is Wishes that night? If it is at 9 or later you should have enough time (though I don't think it would be worth it) and if Wishes is at 8 you would be able to get into MK but then have to turn right around.

Just, IMO, if you want to head back to MK your much better off just staying there to watch Wishes. The view of Wishes from inside the park is better than the view of Wishes from CG. I don't see many times when returning to watch Wishes is really worth the hassle.

We will see Wishes in MK on Main Street earlier in our trip. Fireworks are at 10 p.m.

Thanks!

Even though you'll see Wishes from Main Street on a different night, I have to agree that if you're going to be in the MK, heading back to CG doesn't seem practical. The best view of the fireworks is in the MK so maybe pick a different spot. Many people like the view from behind the castle and it's different enough from the Main Street view.

If you're spending the evening somewhere other than the MK, I could see going back to the CG.

My DH and I decided that our girls would think watching the Electrical Water Pageant and then Wishes from Poly would be more exciting. It also makes more sense. We made a late (for us) dinner reservation at 7:00, hang out on the beach and then watch the shows. Thanks everyone. :)

Why don't you try for later dining reservations? That way you can spend more time in MK before dinner, and not have to worry about getting back and forth.
