We've got a PS for California Grill. What is the dress code? Dh doesn't want to bring long pants if he doesn't have to.... Are dressy shorts with a nice collar short sleeve shirt sufficient? TIA! :)

I'm sure I am in the minority on this, but I do not go out to dinner, no matter where I am, without putting long pants on. I believe proper dining attire, not Disney-specific, for dinner is long pants. However, having just said that, I'm sure you will see men and women wearing shorts and probably "park attire".

DH and I were just there last Saturday and DH wore Dockers and golf shirt and I wore a casual black/white check skirt and dressy t-shirt. I would dress the same if I went again. It just feels like a place that warrants a little bit more dressy attire. We saw folks dressed in nice dresses and guys in shirts and ties, others in resorts casual (including us!), and folks that looked like they just came from the parks in shorts and and t shirts. So, I guess you can really get away with whatever you want. IMO though. I would feel better in something a little nicer.

Thanks for the replies! I'll put in a pair of pants for dh without him knowing it! ;)

No need to do that to him!!!
Shorts are just fine, if that's what he wants to wear. I saw a # of folks in shorts the night we dined at CG-including one fellow in white shorts, Hawaiian print shirt, and sandals. Make no mistake--there won't be a committee at the door surveying how you are dressed and deciding whether or not you can enter. NO ONE will even notice, or care.

The only restaurant in WDW with a specific dress code is Victoria & Albert's. I would usually dress up to go to a place of CG's caliber, but WDW seems to be the exception. Resort wear is fine. My husband always wears a pair of khaki pants on the plane, and that's the only pair he brings.

When we go DH always wears long pants...but we don't have many opportunites to dress up so neither of us mind. I have seen many in golf shorts though and lots of other casual dress as well.

I was told by the CM who took my PS that CA Grill does require men to wear a collered shirt. She didn't say anything about shorts though. Just make sure your hubby has a golf or polo shirt, at least. A t-shirt may be a problem if they're sticking to policy.
