We are going to California Grill the last night in WDW (and hopefully seeing fireworks!) and we have a question:

how do people dress to have dinner here? is it "theme park attire" or do people doll up a little bit more?

Thanks !

Cheryl

DH and I had dinner there a few weeks ago and we wore resort casual. casual pants and a nice top. But we saw people in shorts and jeans.:scared1: I would plan to dress up a little more.:)

thanks--that's what I expected (and what I would feel more comfortable with) but wanted to make sure we wouldn't be "overdressed"

We normally wear resort casual as well. DH will wear a nice pair of slacks with a nice button shirt, same for DS and I will usually wear a dress pair of capris, blouse and heels. We have seen some people dressed in their swim trunks and a tee shirt :scared1: :sad2: :scared1: and others dressed like they were going to a formal affair. Have a great time.

DH and I just had a great dinner here and we can attest to the dress code. I wore capris and a dressy top and he wore a collared shirt and khaki slacks and we looked just right. Coming in front of us was a family in a swim suit top and a shorts and another women in a tight, low cut tank top and they also got seated. But the best was a guy in a yellow t shirt and track pants -- yep you heard me, track pants.

Moral of the story, I dont think they adhere to the dress code.

We just ate there a few days ago and came straight from the parks so we had on a khaki shorts and a nicer t-shirt. We didn't feel under dressed at all.

Of course, I wasn't looking at the people around me. I was there to enjoy having dinner with my husband.

We were there about a month ago. As long as you don't wear swim suits or tank tops you are good to go. Most of the men in our party wore shorts/polo shirts. ladies, pants/capris and a top. We didn't go over the top and seems most everyone else in the restaurant didn't either.

Enjoy!

Given that WDW's main purpose is a theme park, I can totally understand people arriving in shorts and polo shirts. But you would think people would have more sense than to show up in some of the things they do. The other thing that drives me crazy is the men that insist on wearing baseball caps all through their meal. Where is Miss Manners when you need her?

We ate there last week and we were the people wearing shorts. But they were nice shorts and nice tops. Well, Dh's shirt was nice until he spilled wine on it. My dd had a sundress on. She was probably the best dressed of the three of us but she fell asleep during dinner so no one really saw her. The guy sitting at the next table at a kilt on. I'm ashamed to say he had better legs than me.
