I know the dress code for CG is "business casual", but I have 2 boys, ages 8 and 4, and have no idea how to dress them! Would they need khaki type pants and nice shoes, or do you think I could get away with maybe a nice pair of jeans, a short sleeved collared shirt, and "nice" sneakers. (By nice I mean new and clean!)
Thanks so much!

business casual rules in place:

For the Signature Dining Restaurants, a "Business Casual" dress code is in effect:

Men - Dress pants, jeans or dress shorts and a T-shirt or long sleeve shirt with collar is required. (Jackets optional.)

Women - Jeans, skirts or dress shorts and blouse, sweater or dress is required.

NOT PERMITTED: Tank tops, swim suits or swim cover ups, hats for gentlemen, cut offs or clothing with rips/tears are not allowed. T-shirts with offensive language/graphics will also not be permitted.

The Signature Restaurants are:

Artist Point, Bistro de Paris, California Grill, Citrico's, Citrico's Chef's Domaine, Flying Fish, Fulton's Crab House, Il Mulino, Jiko's, Narcoossee's, Portobello Yacht Club, Shula's, Todd English's bluezoo, Wolfgang Puck Dining Room and Yachtsmen Steakhouse.

It's fairly broad

Basically, kids are fine in clean clothes. There is no business casual dress for kids unless they are junior executives somewhere.

I wouldn't take them there wearing something like "My mom and dad went to Las Vegas and all I got was this lousy T-shirt".

There were a number of Disney Princesses fresh from Bibbity Bobbity Boutique when we dined there last year. Your boys will be fine. :)

The kids would be great in regular short outfits, but you could do the whole khaki thing if you wanted.

What I usually do with my kids is put a collared polo shirt on them. If it is hot they can wear nice dress shorts if it is not they wear khakis. I think it is important to distinguish the fact that you are going to a signature restaurant and that better behaviour is going to be expected than if we were just running out to get a burger. Wearing nicer clothes helps them figure out that this is something special and they need to behave accordingly.

The sneakers are definitely not a problem. We have eaten at CG twice and have never worn anything but sneakers (on our feet that is:rotfl2:). There just isn't room in the luggage for a good pair of shoes that you certainly wouldn't wear during you miles of walking at WDW.

Jeans probably aren't on the list but I really don't see them complaining especially with kids.

We were just there. My 2 boys wore nice jean/black shorts and shortsleeve polo/button down. Hubby wore nuce shorts/polo. We did not feel out of place and there were people dressed in park t-shirts and dressier. Very comfortable place.

Jeans are also expressly permitted for kids and adults.

Just remember folks, disney's definition of "business casual" is not the same definition as much of the corporate world. Just like business casual in parts of south florida and in the islands/other countries is not the same as american corporate business casual. Just follow disney's guidelines and you'll be okay, even though it might be hard to equate business casual with jeans, shorts, sneakers and t-shirts.

We had a 9:30pm reservation in April with a fireworks seating. Apparently business casual also includes baseball caps on the head. I wanted to walk over and knock that thing flying across the restaurant:sad2:

oh thank you for saying this! There are alot of parents out there that don't understand this much less would require this of their kids.

Thank you for that reply!:thumbsup2
