California Grill ~ Desserts Only???

Ok I am dying to celebrate my birthday at California Grill BUT my family eats dinner way before the 9pm available reservation time SO there is no rule against going for desserts and drinks only is there? Please advise! Thanks

There's no rule against it, but be very generous (you know what I mean) to your server -- and Mods, please do not delete this message or lock this thread. I have violated no rules as I have mentioned nothing specific.

If you're going to usurp a table just for dessert and drinks, you're taking away a larger bill from a server and that affects the company's and that cast member's bottom line. It's a simple matter of courtesy. I've seen too many people blow it off like it's not their responsibility, and then they wonder why the quality of service drops. Going to a restaurant just for the dessert is no different than going on a date just for the you-know-what. Please be kind.

Yes you can make an adr for just dessert or dessert and drinks.

Some people will tell you that you are taking away $$ from the server or taking a table from someone wanting a meal, but this is your vacation do what you want. It is not hurting or hindering anyone!!

And don't feel guilty!!

I agree go have dessert and a cocktail but be sure to tip wait staff well.. Last yr we went just for sushi and cocktails and server was a little sarcastic at first..Service was still good tho, weended up ordering dessert and tipped him well..

You have just as much right going and getting dessert and cocktails as anyone else, your still a paying customer.

I think I would do the same thing if I were you...I can't eat dinner that late either!
