Why respond?Why the lecturing?

Securing water rights isn't something I necessarily thought of, environmental stuff I did but I wasn't thinking about salmon. I'm sure though any water source would help CA out as a whole. Prolonged droughts never help out.
OK? So? They decided it was worthy of wall to wall coverage. Other networks didn't. Wonder what stories Fox isn't covering. It's been wall to wall on Fox the last 48 hours.
I've been watching CNN. Seems like they are maintaining a blend of the horror of the fires, the poignant proceedings of President Carter's funeral and the everyday craziness. It's been wall to wall on Fox the last 48 hours.
Geez, I wonder why! I've been watching Fox on and off. They are not covering real time events. The fire is just the background effects for all the tweets/interviews insulting Californians. It's been wall to wall on Fox the last 48 hours.
They are currently covering the funeral. Yesterday was the fire all day which is a pretty horrific story .OK? So? They decided it was worthy of wall to wall coverage. Other networks didn't. Wonder what stories Fox isn't covering.
Put a strong emphasis on "currently", because as of 10 minutes ago they were still insulting the CA governor with an unmentionable name. They are currently covering the funeral. Yesterday was the fire all day which is a pretty horrific story .
What Californians are they insulting? I have not seen them insulting people that live on n californiaGeez, I wonder why! I've been watching Fox on and off. They are not covering real time events. The fire is just the background effects for all the tweets/interviews insulting Californians.
Natural disasters, shootings terroriidt attacks ie New Orleans tend to monopolize the news. Not sure why this is upsetting you.Put a strong emphasis on "currently", because as of 10 minutes ago they were still insulting the CA governor with an unmentionable name.
To be fair, it's understandable @tvguy would be a bit het up about the situation and not looking at it from a detached and rational perspective when his family is at risk of being affected. Sometimes you need to give grace for going all Veruca Salt on a situation.I'm speaking to complaining on and on about lack of worldwide and national coverage especially when posters have pointed out it is being covered and gave the places they saw it.
I have friends near the Eaton fire. I am half way across the world and making it my business to be pro active and seek out information online relating to the safety of my friends. Im just astounded that someone in the same state, in the same timezone is making such a big deal about it.To be fair, it's understandable @tvguy would be a bit het up about the situation and not looking at it from a detached and rational perspective when his family is at risk of being affected. Posters have given him many sources that are and were at the time of the comments covering it, the complaint stemmed from CNN not covering it to his liking. That's odd if you're worried about your family (using your comments not his). That's also why I made a comment about keeping up with what is going on nationwide, many of us are focused on what goes on in our own areas, we don't spend comment after comment talking about how it should be covered globally. As other posters said it is being covered elsewhere on other news sites, even here in my area where most of the coverage locally is about the winter storm and its effects. To be fair, it's understandable @tvguy would be a bit het up about the situation and not looking at it from a detached and rational perspective when his family is at risk of being affected. Watch harder! Unless you don't find it insulting because you agree with them. What Californians are they insulting? I have not seen them insulting people that live on n california
You are right! I'm backing off now and let people report on the unfolding event. So while you all back and forth..
Winds up to 100 is insane, I was reading that yesterday thinking how does one even try to get in there with anything and how do people get out with that mph winds.Once the 60-100 mph winds died down

I can see the fires from my home. Air quality in my area is unhealthy, but I am safe.
It is difficult to open a thread asking if everyone is okay and scroll through five pages of people discussing/debating what type of coverage it warrants or pointing fingers at the cause. Can someone either change the title or move this thread back on topic?
@badtink2.0, I know you are overseas. If you are able to download the app, Watch Duty, it has accurate fire information.
@Lumpy1106 Goats have been used throughout LA County and up and down the state for many, many years.
@sasywtch Mutual aid is common during disasters. Southern California sent manpower and equipment to help both Sacramento and Canada during their fires.
Regarding the Sunset Fire, evacuations are being lifted as I type.
This was a huge windstorm. We haven't had winds like this in a decade. The wind prevented an arial attack on Tuesday. Once the 60-100 mph winds died down, and helicopters could fly, they were able to drop thousands of gallons of water every minute or two in rapid succession. The copters greatly helped the ground crews.
We are expecting strong Santa Ana winds tomorrow and next week, especially in Orange County and Inland Empire. They won't be as strong as Tuesday, but they will be strong enough to cause additional problems in LA and fuel new fires south of LA.
It is a new day. Hug your loved ones. Take a moment to appreciate what you have and that you are able to spend your free time on a website about the Happiest Place on Earth.

Bravo to Fox 11, ABC7 and all other local stations for preempting network programs despite being owned by the networks. Abbott Elementary, Hell’s Kitchen, and other network shows are NOT APPROPRIATE TO AIR in an emergency situation like this. It's been wall to wall on Fox the last 48 hours.
