I have information for anyone who is wondering about the Paris by Night tour and or the Trip to Provins tour operated thru DLP. We took both tours and I would be happy to answer any questions you may have. With that being said, here is a brief summery of our trip:
We spent a total of 4 days in Paris before heading over to Barcelona for our 7 night cruise of the Med. If anyone wants info on that I would be happy to help. But I'm going to keep this summery focused on Paris and DLP.
We are from California so this was a loooooong haul to get to Paris. We left on Tuesday Sept. 7 at 7:20a.m. and Landed in CDG airport in Paris at 6:40a.m on Wednesday. The airport is HUGE and we had a 40 minute wait to get thru customs where they stamped our passports. We used TIO SHUTTLE which was mentioned on disboards. We had some issues at first, the driver was NOT where he said he was going to be so we stood around and had someone at the information booth call Tioshuttle to pick us up, 1 hour and 30 minutes later the driver arrived. So I will not reccomend using Tioshuttle. Anyways we ended up stuck in traffic and it took over an hour to arrive at Disney's Sequoia Lodge. All that is fine however I was sick and throwing up due to an accidental overdose of sudefed (due to the 9 hour time change I had to many in a short period of time) with that being said we arrived at the hotel which IS BEAUTIFUL!!!!! So much more nice than I had expected to be honest. We were checking in right away, I explained to the lady I was super sick (at this point throwing up every 15 - 20 minutes and 2 times in the hotel lobby bathroom) I was hoping she could get us a room, even though I know there are none available until 3p.m. WELLLLLL, she frantically worked and got us into a room right then and there. We stayed in the Monterey Lodge, the room was nice, much nicer than I had expected, the staff was amazing and had actually checked on me later that day to see how I was feeling. I was so impressed. So we ate at Rainforrest cafe later that night, and it was good, quick service but overpriced. It was $60 euros for a salad, onion rings and my son had a burger and fries, and Husband had the same. Disney Village is very nicely themed, I LOVED the stores. This was day #1. We never made it into the park that day, I was to sick.
DAY #2:
We woke up and had breakfast in the hotel, it was very good. We headed over to Disneyland at 8:00a.m I was very moved at how beautiful the park was, the rides were a blast, each their own and a little different from the parks here in the states. But they were all fantastic. The parks and bathrooms were impecably clean, everyone was very friendly we never one time EVER had any cast member be rude to us. Everyone was overly nice to us, and even more so when they found out we were from California. It may help that I do speak french though. But none then less, we were treated like gold. I LOVE Disney studios, Crushes coaster was definatly the favorite.
On a quick note and a TIP***** we did eat some meals at Mcdonalds because they do have FREE WI-FI, and we loved that. We ended up eating dinner that night at The Steakhouse in Disney Village and it was fantastic. The food was excellent and the price was good at $75 euros and that was appitizers, meal and dessert for all 3 of us. This was the night of our Paris at night tour. They picked us up at Hotel New York at 9:00p.m. we were in a bus that has a glass roof. It was a great tour and it did offer 40 minutes to get out and tour around the Eiffel Tower on your own from 11:00p.m. - 11:40p.m. It was so lovely. The tour was definatly worth it.

Day #3
We got up and had breakfast in the Disneyland park at 8:00a.m. and we park hopped until they both closed at 6p.m. We then took the train to go shop at the outlets and the mall which was like a 4 minute train ride. It was so much fun. We ended up eating dinner at Planet Hollywood that night which we felt was a hefty bill for the food we didn't order much, just a salad, burger, and ribs (that was the entrees) we didn't order dessert or apitizers and the bill was 55 euros. A little steep and the food was not that great.
Day #4
We did breakfast at Mcdonalds because Hubby was sick of Croissants and I have no idea how anyone could get sick of those!! Anyways it was quick and very reasonable and then we were on with our tour to Provins. They met us at the tour booth by the train station right in the promande of the parks and disney village. They walked us to the bus and it was a 45 minute drive. The drive is very scenic and beautiful. We arrived and it was breathtaking. You are able to tour the town on your own, which we enjoyed. The tour provides you with tickets to the tower, tickets to the falcon show and tickets to the guided tour of the underground tunnels. (this tour is only operated in FRENCH language) We did the tour of the tower (ceasars tower) and it was fantastic we were able to go into a beautiful church by the tower and take some pics, the church is amazing, then we headed to the town square to find a place to eat. We ate at a small outdoor cafe and the food was fantastic and price was great. We were served bread, salads, and we all ordered different sandwhiches and fries and drinks. The bill was only 25 euros. Then we proceeded to look around and head towards the underground tunnel tour. The tour was great, the tunnels are so worth the trip!!! We were very very impressed, after this we realized we had missed the falcon show so we headed to the bus stop and back to Disney. You can leave Provins whenever you want by bus, the bus comes every hour. So we got back to Disney at 4:00p.m. and went straight into the parks until closing at 10:00p.m. And I had all fingers crossed to get a last minute reservation at Walts, and......... it worked!!!! We got in for dinner at 6:30p.m. and we were seated at a middle table that overlooked main street we were seated right at the window. The food was amazing, we all ordered appitizers, entree's and dessert and the bill was only 80 euros. Which to us, it was great. Took a night flight in the hot air balloon in disney village and it was so worth it and so amazing. Went back to the room and fell into bed, we had to be up showered and ready to go back to CDG airport at 5:20a.m. to catch our flight to Barcelona.

Your experience at DLP has made me go all fluffy and gooey inside :goodvibes:goodvibes- so glad you enjoyed it all as much as you did.

Thanks for the great info...my wife and I arrive on Oct 4th and will be there until the 15th, staying at both SL and DLH.

Too bad about the smoking, but it IS Europe, but very glad to hear about how clean it was and how nice the people were!

Your welcome for the information. I was just so impressed with DLP. And I had heard so much negative stuff from others who had visited DLP from here in the states, but from the moment we arrived we never saw or felt anything negative. I also know it is important you go in with an open heart and understanding of the fact that each disney park is it's own entitiy. No two parks are exactly the same. And a TRUE disney fan would know and respect that. My husband is a great example of this. Is really honestly doesn't care for Disney parks that much, he's not a big fan. It's me and DS who is 11 that are the fans. I told him going in to the trip to expect differences and respect it for what it is. And at the end of the trip I asked him, so what truly did you think about DLP? And he said, well honestly.... "We were treated better in DLP than we have ever been treated at Disneyland in Los Angeles". That right there is enough said. We fully enjoyed every minute of this trip and it really was the trip of a lifetime. Thank you for reading my mini trip report.

That was great to read your trip report!! Sounds like you had a fantastic time at Disney :thumbsup2 Good to read about the Paris trips too, they sound lovely. Would love to do them once our youngest is a bit older Thanks for sharing :goodvibes

Sooo glad you had a good experience!!!!:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes I too love DLRP and hope to go as often as possible!!:wizard: Sorry too about your icky first day - yuk to be sick on holiday and traveling on long haul flights can be so taxing. But glad you got a little tlc from the SL!

I can't believe I missed this the first time around! I'm so glad your trip went well! It sounds wonderful! I was joking with DH today that I'm almost out of the Laduree tea I purchased last year...we'll have to schedule another trip. His response? "The most expensive grocery run in the world!"

I am so glad you had such a great time. I am sorry to hear about Tio Shuttles. We just used them this week 3 times and they were early for all of our times (and waiting for us at the airport) I had a great experience with them.

It sounds like a fantastic trip:goodvibes

I have been looking for a trip report like this! We are staying at the Seqoiua in 2 weeks and I am so nervous about getting there from Northern VA (the time zones). We do not sleep at all on planes so I am really hoping we can get some sort of early checkin. We were pleasantly surprised last summer in London before our Dover-Barcelona Disney cruise to have our hotel room ready when we got there around 830am! We slept and managed to have a decent day on the London Eye. I too was sick from coming back from the LA area last month from our trip to Disneyland and then our Alaska cruise (DCL) so I feel for you. It sounds like the hotel was fine, the food was fine, and the beauty of Disney really came through (even in a different country). I am sighing with relief as I too have read reviews some negative but most positive (thanks Adam!). Can't wait to go but I think I will call the hotel directly and see if we can get early checkin.
Thanks again-Elizabeth
