California Cruise Questions

I hadnt been paying attention to all the CA cruise info because I had no plan on doing one. Now, it looks like that just might be our only option.
So what Im wondering is, has any specific info been announced yet, other than the dates and itineraries? Will the menus and dining rotations stay the same? What nights are formal & semi formal? Any info on excursions?...stuff like that.

Even DCL has decided that far in advance as of yet. They have only just released the info regarding the new stops on the Caribbean Cruises.

Poor DCL They never imagined in their wildest dreams that we'd actually want that kind of detail 12-15 months in advance of a cruise (what were they thinking?? )

So, no, they do not know anything yet about the excursions, dining rotations (although I'm guessing they'll be the same as the 7 night rotations right now), how many formal/semi-formal nights (or what nights of the cruise they will be), what themes there will be (although DCL is hinting the themed nights might be different from those currently offered on the Western & Eastern itineraries), etc. etc. etc.

They haven't even decided if we'll be able to add packages (i.e. Family Reunion, REAS, etc.) to the CA cruises (I'm guessing we'll be able to).

LOL, yeah dont they know we are planaholics? I dont even know if we are definitely doing a CA cruise but I want to start the planning.
Actually, I did assume none of this info was out, but just wanted to be sure I didnt miss it while I wasnt paying attention.

I did find out that they will be running transfers from all 3 disney hotels at Disneyland.

$49 round trip and $25 one way.

They have only just released the info regarding the new stops on the Caribbean Cruises.

What new stops? Is it the Puerto Rico and Antiqua special cruises this fall or are there other "new" or "permanent" iteneraries?

Okay, this is going to sound a little weird (and maybe a tad cheap) ... if a person were to spend ONE night at a DLR hotel the night before the cruise, and do one way transfers, could we then leave a car parked at the DLR hotel for 14-15 days???

Or are they thinking more of cruisers that are flying into CA???

DH isn't thrilled with pay $10-$11 at the port for 15 days to park our car, so he's trying to find "other options"

Is it possible to rent a car near "the original house of mouse" and drop it off at the port a couple of hours later? That would be a lot cheaper than paying to park the car for 2 weeks! And safer too!!

I think there is a charge to park at the DL hotels unless your room package has parking included. We booked a room only (no passes) last year and were charged around $8 per day for self parking at the DL hotel. I'd try for free parking at a hotel in the Long Beach area and take a taxi or Super Shuttle to port. I went to Catalina last weekend and saw lots of blue Super Shuttle vans at the SP port.

I live about 20 minutes from DL and 25 minutes from the port. For a nominal fee you can park in my driveway. LOL Gotta fund our Mex. Riv. cruise someway!!! Maybe I should have run this past my husband first. (By the way, I was just joking) If I can get any info from around here let me know. Amy
