California Adventure Strategy Help

I will be making a trip to Disneyland in less than a week but it will only be a day trip. Since I have been to Disneyworld more than 12 times and plan to use the same park strategy I use for Magic Kingdom in Disneyland, will go there first. Now, the last time I went to California adventure was 2003-2004ish, and will head there in the afternoon. The attractions I want to hit are California Screamin', Soarin', Tower of Terror, Grizzly River, and Its Tough To Be a Bug, everything else is secondary. I need suggestions, thanks!

Plan to do Carsland in California Adventure first, or not at all. Lines get way too long almost immediately after opening. Land is so cute--very realistic. Radiator Springs is nice ride--kind of on the same order as Test Track, except not as fast. Stop at Cozy Cone for a snack!

You are going for more than a single day, right?

DCA now has more attractions than either Epcot or DHS in WDW, so it is not longer a 1/2 day park. You're going to need two full days to have a hope of seeing everything (or close to it) at Disneyland Resort. 4 days would be better, to let you slow down a bit or repeat some favorites.

You do not want to miss Radiator Springs Racers and the rest of Cars Land.

FP first thing for tot, and if CS FP is disconnected for that day get that too! youll have to check when you get there. I would next get a FP for CS. TOT line is usually manageable and moves fairly quickly. You will want to also FP Soarin. GRR should also be another manageable line. TTBAB is never a wait.

I would actually FP Soarin' before TOT.

Unfortunately thats all I will have time for as I'm tagging along on a business trip with my husband. If I had it my way we would at least spend 1 extra day there, but unfortunately this time around the situation is not under my control. But 1 day in Disney is always better than no days in Disney

Are you visiting the parks alone? Will you be able to use the single rider lines?

If you have any desire to see Carsland (and it is pretty awesome), you need to flip your strategy and go to DCA (California Adventure) first. Since you have one day, I would focus on standby and pray that Radiator Springs Racers is running at opening. Go through the single rider line.

Then head over to Tower of Terror, it doesn't have a single rider line, so you should ride it before it gets a long line. Then to Soarin', then Screamin', Grizzly. Those all have single rider lines as well, so if you can, I would use them. It's Tough to be a Bug would be last as it is never that busy.

Park hop to DL and grab a Space FP. I don't know your priorities here, but Space and Pirates are frequently reported as being better at DL than WDW.

I am not sure of your dates, but hopefully you are going when the parks are open late. Use single rider at DL where available (Splash and Matterhorn since Indy is under refurb). Have fun!

No, I will have my husband with me, however there are rides I will be going on alone, so will be able to take advantage of the single rider lines on ones that have them.

You can use single rider together too - you'll get to queue together, just not ride together
