California Adventure Rennovation Thread

I really wish they would get rid of "A Bug's Land." :crazy2: As it is now, that space is such a waste. :headache: They could do something MUCH better with it. "But...but...but, the little kids....!" Yeah well, if Disney is determined to keep that area aimed at toddlers, then they should at least bring it up to par with standards we expect from Disney. But honestly, I hope they abolish the entire area altogether and replace it with something truly spectacular. The more attractions they build that really make people gravitate toward DCA, the better.

So please Disney, GET RID OF A BUG'S LAND AND REPLACE IT WITH SOMETHING WORTH WHILE!!! (Preferably a MAJOR E-Ticket attraction -- or two D-ticket attractions)

hey, bugs land is fun! i love Heimlich's chew train! and i'm sorry but DCA has to have something for the kids that are to young to ride CS. but as it stands, Bugs land is staying!

Kids have Ariel's Undersea Adventure, Monsters Inc, Aladin, Crush, Playhouse Disney, World of Color, Toy Story Mania, etc. Disney should at least should bring A Bug's Land up to par if they're going to keep it. Otherwise, they need to use that valuable space for something worth while. As it sits..... meh. A diamond in the rough, or a rough spot in the diamond?

We love Bugs Land. It's themed impeccably- from the popsicle stick benches to the lights made to look like lightning bugs! Very, very cute.:snooty:

I agree it is the best second option to Fantasyland in any Disney park. Sure it based on a single hit movie, but where else can any kid 2-6yo find 4 rides packed together?

When is the new entrance supposed to be finished?

The entrance could be ready for summer. However the whole entrance street may take over a year and not be ready until summer 2012. A lot of rumors surround how this will all be done.

it's suppose to be a 1940's art deco theme, themed to the early 1940's california..i can't wait for the new entrance! it is going to look soo great!

Actually, it's supposed to be 1920's (sorry, can't control my urge to correct people regarding history, I'm a history nerd). It's supposed to be the Hollywood that Walt arrived to when he first came to Hollywood (hence the alleged planned new version of the Founder's statute of a young Walt and a early Mickey).

Even though it's a Disneyfied recreation, I'm super happy that Southern California is getting some recreated history. :yay: It always saddens me to walk through parts of LA and see beautiful old buildings sticking out like sore thumbs amongst ugly strip malls and the like.:sad2:

As for A Bug's Land, imo as an adult, it's cute to visit once, and I can see how it'd be annoying without kids. However, I do like the splash area that they have when it gets hot out.:upsidedow

Splash areas are nice for some carefree cooling play. Though they took it out of bugsland. The Bountiful Farm area is being used for Carsland.

i think they should change bugs land to something else. something that can entertain older kids teens an adults I dont know what it is i jsut hate bugs land.

Tho i am looking forward to carsland, an the new entrince yes ill miss the california letters maybe they will have a hollywoodland letters instead.

I hope some is done by this dec i know most wont be but hay gives us something to go back for in two or three years lol

also that person who said TRON should have something on jan 2009.

sorry, i got my years wrong.sorry splash area is no longer there

Have they said yet when Soarin' Over the World is coming? From what I remember seeing, I thought it might be sometime in 2013, but I can't be sure.

After they're finished with the overhaul of DCA in 2012, I wonder what Disneyland Resort's next big project will be?

There are still 2 splash areas in Bugs Land. The big one in the Bountiful Farms area is gone.

Just curious, what is the projected end date for all the renovations for DCA? thanks
