Hi Everybody,

You all are the deal masters and I wanted to pick your brains on this totally overpriced toy. I think Santa will bring my girls the Manor, which is like $170 on toys r us. The best deal I can find is new on ebay shipped and assuming no tax it's $150.

Is that as good as it gets other than getting it used?

Any advice at all would be greatly appreciated. I am not used to not being able to get stuff 1/2 off and I am worried this is one of those toys that just doesn't get "cheap".

Thanks in advance, and goodluck holiday shopping to everybody.....

My dd loves these critters, but I just couldnt fork over the amount of money they want for the houses. I bought a fisher price dollhouse at goodwill for $1.50 and got dd a couple of the critter families. She is happy with that thank goodness. I looked on amazon when I was looking for deals and they had a buy one thing, get one thing 1/2 price. Maybe they will run that special again. Other than that, I had a hard time finding any deals on them.

Be very careful using eBay for new toys. They are often drop-shipped from toy sellers using stolen credit cards.

A person with a stolen credit card number will place the item on eBay at a price below retail, often with "Buy It Now" and free shipping. When you win/buy the item, they will use a stolen credit card to purchase the item from an online store with your address as the shipping address. And when the person's who's credit card was stolen does a chargeback, you can be out a toy.

Blessedby3-oh yes, that is good. I have some FP stuff too, I will look for the big houses. If I didn't have 2 girls I don't think I would even consider this purchase and I do think it will get played with. The resale value is good too-so there's that.

MAH4546-I know! Ebay is one scary place and I don't buy anything unless it's from someone with a nice long selling history. I don't even sell there anymore-I hate it and paypal is really bad. But thanks for pointing that out.

And yes, I have seen the occasional bogo 1/2 off, but I don't want 2 insanely expensive houses.

We got dd the cozy cottage starter set. House, some furniture and a bunny . I looked all around online and actually found it cheapest at a mom and pop toy store.

I was more thinking along the lines of you buying one house and then maybe the car/van or something else they would want at 1/2 price. Good luck to you:thumbsup2
