Cali Grille- Just okay

Had dinner at the California Grille on Wednesday night. We had sushi as the app and I had the steak for dinner. Everything was good-- NOT outstanding. I thought the sushi we had at the Kona Sushi Bar was better. We were disappointed that the Flatbreads had been taken off the menu.

2 stories here - the oven used for the flatbreads was damaged by fire at the beginning of March and had to be either repaired or replaced. Got this story from a server on March 21. If that is the case, the repair or replacement has not been finished because there still aren't flatbreads available.

Some are reporting that they are hearing from their servers that the chef removed the flatbreads to take the menu in a new direction and they won't be back.

As to which story is the one to believe - beats me.

Don't get my wrong, I go for the filet, but I really liked the flatbreads for an appy!!

Sounds more and more like the flatbreads may be off the menu. It just CAN"T take that long to fix an oven--or even get a new one.

I'm sorry you weren't thrilled with your meal. I've had varying experiences there...
