Hi everyone, does anyone have the most recent banquet menu? I found one through the disney catered menus site but I'm not sure if there's a newer one, it's dated as expiring on Sept 2010.

Also, when can the private rooms be booked? TIA!

Also, has anybody done anything at the Napa Room? It would be helpful to know people's experiences. And if anyone has pictures that would be awesome. Thanks! :goodvibes

So I keep posting to myself lol but anyway I just called Disney group dining and they told me if I'm not getting married through DFTW (I'm planning on using SoG) then it can't in any way resemble a wedding in any way, we can't wear our attire or have a cake or a dj, it would just have to be a group dinner. She said if I wanted it to be a reception I would have to go through DFTW and meet the $12k min. She also told me I can't talk to anyone else or be provided any more information until I have a reservation secured for next year. I know other people have gotten around this, I don't know if I should try calling CG directly or what to do at this point. Any suggestions? :confused3

This is the case for any event booked directly with Disney Catering...if it looks like a wedding they will send you to DFTW. You could wear your wedding dress to a group dining reservation, but catered events are a different story unfortunately. I don't think you can book the CG's private rooms directly through the restaurant (I just double checked Passporters - and you can't...you have to go through Disney Catered Events or DFTW).

In order to book either the Napa or Sonoma rooms, you do have to go through DFTW. :(

My husband and I were married in December of last year and had our reception in the Napa room. It was absolutely stunning and PERFECT for us. I would so highly recommend it if it's possible for you.

I would post pics, but for some reason, photobucket does not want to cooperate! I'll try again later so you can get a better idea of the space and how it all lays out.

HTH! :)

Here are those photos I promised! :goodvibes

I have a copy of the Cali Grill menu that expires September 2011. It's in a pdf format though so I can't post it. I might be able to attach the file to you in an email. If you want it you can pm me with your email address and I will send it to you.

We actually used both the Napa and Sonoma Rooms. Here are a few pictures of the Napa room for you. It was a perfect space for us, and the food was really yummy too! :goodvibes

And of course, at night, the firework view is amazing!

I am planning on using this room too! Can't remember which one, but the bigger one is the one I will be using :confused3. I was told it fits 30 with a small dance floor comfortably :goodvibes. You do have to use DFTW. I do have 2012 menus but they are for breakfast and lunch as I am having an 8 am castle ceremony. I was told they will not do brunch because the kitchen can't accommodate. I'm not sure what meal menus you were looking for but PM me if you are interested.

Just a tidbit that is cycling around the dining world.... Servers have told customers, but no set date has been given.

The Cali Grill is supposed to close during the 4th quarter this year (so sometime this fall) and be closed for up to a year. Apparently there is some major roofing work that needs done. There has also be talk that there is no for sure signs it will return as the Cali Grill :(

The Napa Room has a maximum of 50 I believe--it's a great space!

Oh, no, are you kidding me  I will be really unhappy if that's true!

Oh Frack I hope not...
DH and I love that place, dine with the same server every time, and were planning on having our VR there...

That would suck if it doesn't return as Cali grill

Some how I feel like this rumor is somewhat exaggerated. A whole year sounds like an awful long time to fix a roof, even if you have to put a whole new one on:confused3 They did a double tear off on my 5 bedroom home and it only took 2 days. Idk but I hope it isn't true cause I really want CG for my wedding reception :sad1:

I'm trying desperately to find a location for me and my fiancé that will fit what we're looking for.. We really want a location that FEELS like we're in Disney, but allows us to have entertainment. This eliminates any outdoor location (no entertainment allowed). Are these any other locations that come to mind like the California Grill, where there's a view of something that will remind people that they're in Disney and not some random ballroom?
Thanks!
Frankie

if you can throw big bucks at this, you can always rent out a ride!!! I remember seeing somebody had a VR reception in 'The Great Movie Ride' with a different course in different areas (eg appetizer in the Gangster bit, entree in the Old West and dessert in Munchkinland), complete with theming to match!!! It was really cool!!!
