Cali grill ADRs open last minute?

Back at the 180 mark, we reserved California grill for 915pm... at that time, fireworks were scheduled for 9pm. Well, now it appears this Thursday, Fireworks will be at 745. I've been trying to move that ADR up for a month with no luck. What are the chances it will open up Wednesday?

Also... anything I might be happily surprused about by eating that late?

it can happen. I would suggest touringplans reservation finder. It has found many difficult to get reservations for us.

If you plan on being in MK or have hoppers that day, stick with the ADR you have. The fireworks view from CR is overrated, IMO. The best place to watch is from MSUSA. Then after HEA, head over for your ADR. We have found that the atmosphere changes quite a bit after fireworks. That peak buzz around the restaurants starts to fade and it tends to get a lot quieter and more enjoyable.

Reservations have to be cancelled 24 hours in advance so you might get one the day before your reservation. I'm in a similar situation but needing to move a 5:00 reservation to 6:30. It's 3 months away and so far no luck. I tried TP several times but it keeps "finding" a 5:05 reservation for me. The upside to me for eating at 9:15 would be a smaller bill! By that time I might just have a drink and appetizer and would be perfectly fine.

With the new show, watching from CG is not as good. You can still see the fireworks, but can't really see any of the castle projections which are a big part of the new show.
I would watch the fireworks from MSUSA and then leave for your ADRs.
