Caleb's Wish trip!

I love, love, love the go with the flow in your TR!!

It just drives the "planner" in me crazy when Disney waits till 3 months before to post the calendar...lets us all freak out and plan ADR's...and then changes it the week before we leave. Goodness!

But that is so cool that you were able to catch so much of AK and DHS in one day!!!! Fantastic!!

Looks like you guys are having a blast and I will have to remember the "easy" elevator in the Tower of Terror.

That was nice that you got a few things in at HS. I love Emilee's idea for the ToT. She did ride the elevator inside of it! No agrument here! LOL!

Well Caleb woke up feeling a little GOOFY

So we decided to go to Magic kingdom today!

Now let me tell you that at home my kids wake up pretty early! Well I guess maybe it was the time change?? But I had to wake them up EVERY morning! Just so we could make it before breakfast stopped being served at 10:00!!
So NO rope drop for us!!
But we got there just in time to see the 11:00 parade!

Now I forgot to tell you that they were having a HEAT WAVE in Orlando...literally! It was 97 today!!
So I had some GRUMPY people with me!

And yesterday and today we just got a double stroller for Aubree and Caleb....it was a little tight since Caleb is so tall!
But they did both fit (when he scooted over to one side)

We rode LOTS of rides....almost all of them!
And we saw TONS of characters!!

This was my favorite picture...Aubree looking at Aurora (her fav Princess) with such adoration....they had the sweetest conversation!

We ate lunch at Pinocchio Village House....we had pizza...it was YUMMY! And off for more rides and characters!
The wait time for Mickey and Minnie Mouse was 80 min long...we just walked right in! Such a Blessing!!

Of course Caleb had to try his luck at getting the sword out!!!

NO LUCK!!!

Aubree learned after the Barnstormer ride that we could ask to ride rides a 2nd time....so she wanted to ride every ride twice! We did ride several twice...but not all of them!

Now it was getting close to 7:30..and I thought we should head toward the castle to get a spot for the parade.
I spotted the Dole whip stand so I had to stop and get one....YUMMO!
I didn't get to have much though! Little pigs in my group!

As we are getting close to the castle I see TONS of people already in place for the parade and I didn't know where to try and sit. SO I asked a CM and they directed us to the handicap area....we get over there and that CM sends us to the "bridge"???? SO I walk toward the castle and ask another CM where is the "bridge" and he says...OH over there that is the VIP seating area! WOW
SO we approach the VIP area and the lady tells us our name isn't on the list..and I explain that we are on a wish trip and 2 CM's sent us over there.
She said she was new and was sorry....and let us in!
So we got to sit on nice comfy benches with a front row view of the parade!!

So we had to celebrate with some ice cream!!! Mickey heads and giant popsicles!!

And then we had to move to see the fireworks!

Now we were SOOOO TIRED! And everyone was starting to melt down!
No nap for 3 days was not working well for Aubree (she can only fall asleep in a bed) So she was really cranky!!
I thought we would never get back to the car!
We didn't get home until almost midnight!
But sooo worth it! It was an AWESOME day!!!

Only problem is we never made it INSIDE the castle..now I know that there really isn't anything in there...but tell that to a 4 year old!!!

Maybe next time!!

You know that sentence sent chills through all of us obsessive planners on the DIS. You guys got a lot done your first few days! I know...I planned for months....but nothing seemed to go as planned..so I just gave up and went with the flow!
After that everything seemed to go a lot smoother! And I wasn't stressed about not sticking with "the plan". I think I am becoming a "fly by the seat of my pants" kinda gal in my old age!!

I thought this day sounded perfect but now I am afraid of what is to come on day 4.

Day 4.....Everyone was sound asleep this morning....I figured it was just because they were worn out!!
We were supposed to go to 1 of the Universal's today. And dinner at Chef Mickey's tonight!!
So I decided to let them sleep as long as they could!

Well it was approaching 10 (the end of breakfast) so I woke them up!
Emilee and Aubree woke up fine....Caleb didn't feel good at all!
But again...I just figured it was because he was so tired!

We threw on some clothes and go to breakfast. Caleb just laid his head on the table and refused to eat. I made him drink some OJ and chocolate milk!
We go back to the villa and he gets right back into bed. I go in to talk to him and ...GET OUT OF THE WAY....here comes the OJ and Chocolate milk back up!! He had no fever though! So he laid in bed for about 30 more min. and comes to say he is feeling better!
Tom and I decided maybe we should just spend a slow and easy day at GKTW doing all the fun things there that we hadn't had a chance to do yet!

The kids liked that idea!
So first we drove all around the village taking in all the sights!

Then we walked over to the chapel!
It was so pretty in there!

Then we went into the Castle of Miracles to play around!

The kids made their pillows (each child gets to make a pillow of their own)

Then Caleb did his star! (each wish child gets to place a star on the ceiling of the castle as a forever reminder of their trip to GKTW...so AWESOME)

Then we went over to drive some boats, play putt putt and ride the train!

Aubree LOVED the dinosaur noises when the ball drops into the hole....she spend most of her putt putt time just dropping her ball into the hole to hear AND see the dinosaurs!

The train was a lot of fun!
And let me remind you that all of these activities at GKTW are absolutely FREE!

We had to stop and have some delicious chocolate covered strawberry!

Caleb was feeling better...so we decided to stop and have some ice cream...for lunch!!

(Caleb just had a sprite and some m&m's)
But I couldn't resist this!

For some reason we got a crazy idea to start making silly squirrel faces
(must be a sugar rush)

I think Tom won the silliest contest!!!
Caleb was cracking up!!! (and so was the lady in the back ground)

So we decided to walk back, get on our swimsuits and go for a swim!
We met Ol' Elmer on our way to the pool! (he snores!)

The "big" pool in being remodeled....so we went to the smaller pool...it had these cool water sprayers that the kids liked!

After about 45 min I decide to take Aubree back to get a nap before our big dinner with Mickey and friends!
She fell asleep before I even got my swimsuit off!

I called and made La Ti Da spa reservations at 5:15 for the kids to get pampered!

So Tom and the kids get back to the villa around 3:30 and Caleb goes to get in bed.....this is very UNLIKE him!
I thought maybe he was just tired again! I went in to check on him and he was asleep!!!
I felt of him and he was HOT!
I took his temp..It was 101.4! OH NO!!!
What about our dinner reservations?????

I gave him some Motrin and asked him what he wanted to do?? Try and go eat with Mickey and Goofy if he felt like it or cancel the reservations?
He chose to cancel it! I was just heart broken!!! I was so excited to get these reservations at the last minute! And now we don't get to go!!
So I let him go back to sleep!

5:15 rolls around and I take the girls over to the spa!
Emilee gets her nails painted

and a tattoo

And Aubree got her face painted (like a cupcake...by "the cool pink haired lady"...that's what Aubree called her!)

We went back to the villa and Caleb was sad he missed his spa time...so I took him to get a couple tattoos real quick (I warned them to sanitize after we left)
You can tell he was feeling bad! (but he really wanted those tattoos!)

Looking back....I highly recommend staying "home" 1 day to enjoy all the fun and free things available to do at GKTW! The kids had fun....and our bodies enjoyed the relaxation!


We all went to bed early....hoping and praying tomorrow would be better!!

I still really feel like all this was because I pushed him too hard on Monday! His body was in desperate need of rest!!


Would he wake up feeling better? Or will Day 5 be a repeat of Day 4????

Oh it is so sad that your plans changed again. So sorry Caleb wasn't feeling good but, what a trooper.

We are planning on spending the day on Wednesday resting and doing the GKTW stuff when we go on our trip. We feel the kids and us adults will probably need it.

I am making tentative plans and going with the flow. I am hoping the kids can handle it and enjoy the daily activities.

Hoping Day 5 is better and that Caleb and the rest of you are healthy.

Well we were supposed to eat breakfast with the Princesses at 8:10 this morning. But since Caleb went to bed not feeling well I just couldn't make myself wake him up that early...I was praying he would wake up well rested and feeling better! SO I had to wait until 8am to call the reservation line to try and change our ressies for later in the day. (since we had to reserve with a credit card I didn't want to be charged and not even get to go) The only time they had was for dinner at 8:20....so I took it!!

Caleb finally woke up around 9:15....and guess what???? He felt fine...and NO FEVER!! Praise the Lord!!

Our villa was right beside the stables and they had horseback riding this morning! SO my plan was eat breakfast, ride horses and come back to the villa to change clothes into "Princess meeting clothes" then head out to Epcot.

Well , we went to breakfast.... and during breakfast Aubree starts crying saying she needed to tee tee put when we went she couldn't....and when she finally did a little she was screaming in pain....OH NO...UTI!
(now a little background on Aubree.....she has had 2 previous UTI's this year and the Dr was fearful of kidney reflux...so we had just had a VCUG to test for that just last month!!! Everything came back fine!)
So I was really thinking what now???? Not again today!!!
SO I take Aubree back to the villa to call the Dr and get her to call in some meds for her. Well the nurse tells me I need to take her to urgent care! WHAT??? Look at her records...I know a UTI when I see one...and we are on Caleb's Wish Trip!!! PLEASE!!! And she says NO....sorry!

So as soon as the rest of my gang gets back to the villa we are off to urgent care! SO again...my plans are falling apart!!!
No horse back riding!
No changing clothes!

The wonderful people at the urgent care get us in and out right away! Now off to get the RX filled...that takes FOREVER!!!
Now...while we are waiting for the RX...our Dr calls....wanting to help us out....she just now got my message! I was HOT! She was gonna just call something in for us!! Oh well ...TOO LATE!

After all of that ordeal..we are finally off to Epcot! Aubree seems to be feeling better...or at least her mind is off of it! ( I took 3 changes of shorts and panties in case of accidents)

We got to Epcot about 11:00.....the crowds weren't too bad!
We decided today to get a stroller for Aubree and a wheelchair for Caleb! Which I wish we would have done all along! It was better for both of them...especially Caleb! So much easier for him to get out of the wheelchair!!

Our first stop was Spaceship earth....that was fun!
Now we missed out on the wish lounges at MK because it closed at 7pm...so I suggested we stop there to check out the one in the big ball!

It is on the right side of the big ball....you look for this sign

There are instructions on how to find it and get in on a card you get at orientation!

You go in this room and enter a code on the number pad (ignore Emilee's crazy face)

This is a VERY NICE lounge!

They had some fun things to entertain the kids....

And this floor changes colors

Since I was taking so many pictures in here...the lady said "You should go see the bathroom" ha ha!
WOW! Check it out!!!

We rode EVERY ride at Epcot...I even got on Soarin! (I was scared it would make me sick since I have such bad motion sickness) I kept my eyes closed a lot.....but it was still fun!!

We ran into some sharks.......

And some chipmunks!!

We also made it to all of the countries! I printed the kids each their own passport to get signed at each country.....they enjoyed that!

We had planned on doing the Kim Possible experience! But we passed all the booths to get signed up before we got into the countries and didn't have time to back track...we had to make it to dinner with the princesses!

I LOVED all of the beautiful flowers!!
