Cake Question

How early can I bake a cake and still have it taste fresh? If I make the cake Friday afternoon, will it still taste "fresh" for a party Saturday afternoon? Thanks!

Yes, it will taste fine, and it will probably be even better if you are icing it!

I usually bake on day 1, decorate on day 2 and eat on day 3. My cakes get rave reviews.

Absolutely! I almost never get to bake a cake on the day we will eat it. Frost it as soon as it cools, cover it and you will be fine!

Dh makes the birthday cakes in this family and he bakes it on day one, frosts and decorates on day 2 and either party at night day 2 or day 3
Its still moist and delicious

we do the same thing here.. room-mates and I bake the cake then leave it unfrosted for the day to settle..then icing the next day..few hours after icing sets we decorate fancy..
