Here is the birthday cake I got for my daughter's third birthday.
Price: 47 dollars including tax.
Date Received: March 9, 2010
Location: Carried it out from Boardwalk Bakery
Cake info - Flavors, special requests, etc: It was a 10 inch cake, chocolate with chocolate buttercream, with regular buttercream frosting. Even though it has some special features (pink, custom writing), they gave me the standard price on the basis that it is "just tinted pink." I think the chef worked a nice deal for me by doing that. It tasted good.
Anything else special about that particular cake: Although I originally wanted fondant, I read on the dis boards that it doesn't taste very good. I was worried that the more detail I asked for, the less likely I would be able to afford a cake at all. So I decided to keep my requests simple, basically to beg for pink. She really wanted a pink cake. I said. "can you maybe write Happy Birthday Julia on it?" and he said sure. I told him I had my own cake topper because I couldn't afford one from Disney. I brought this cake topper you see in the photo, an Ariel snow globe. I got it for 8 bucks at the
Disney Store before our trip. Snow globes cannot go in carry on luggage but they are permitted in checked luggage.
The trickiest part of getting a cake is having any room in your stomach to eat it. I have to admit the cake was huge and we hardly ate any of it. My little daughter loved the cake but wasn't really hungry and was overwhelmed in general by being at Disney World in the first place. Nevertheless I am glad I got it because I've got the photos and she can build memories of this celebration by looking over the scrapbook for years to come.
I would like to post photos but when I try, I am rejected because it says I haven't posted enough yet.
I guess you can see it at my blog mountain mom report. Or maybe somebody can tell me how to post it here. Thanks.
