Cake question

Can you upgrade your cake on an Escape vow renewal? I am wanting to have a little bit bigger cake and something more designed than just the standard one they make. Since we are having a winter or Christmas themed vow renewal I want to somehow incorporate that into the theme and the cake. Does anyone have any ideas or photos of cakes, and also does anyone know what the estimated cost for something like this would be?

Miniefan, that is something that you're going to have to ask the FTW folks directly. I have read of other folks being allowed to upgrade their cake for a price. I have also read that the upgrade path is sometimes limited. But my fingers are crossed that the FTW folks will allow you to have a cake that suits your event (and personality) perfectly. Just be prepared to have some wiggle room in your budget. As you know, wedding cakes don't come cheap.

Yes, they will let you do an upgrade to your cake...for a price. You can go with one they already have, or you can email your planner a picture and they will have the bakery quote you a price. We found one we really liked, but DF nixed the cost for the upgrade. Which ended up fine with me because we had tons left over anyway. But, in answer to your question, they can do just about anything.

We had our wedding this past December. We did upgrade our cake-- it was around $250. I can tell you the exact figure when I'm home tonight. I can also post a photo-- we had a snowflake cake. I saw it in another bride's PJ and had Disney replicate that with a few changes.

I have read many intimate brides who update their cake, just be prepared to pay an upgrade fee. I have also seen pictures of a really cute snowflake cake with the castle topper and I think she was an intimate bride. Don't quote us on this though, because DFTW will be able to answer for sure.

Our Minnie & Mickey topper were left off for some reason, but I think it turned out well without it.

Our upgrade fee was $150 plus tax & service charge. We had chocolate cake with peanut butter mousse on the bottom and almond cake with amaretto moussie on the top. It was delicious!

We upgraded our cake and it was $265. That was a lot of money for 11 people but it was the cake of my dreams. I sent our planner pictures and a description of what we wanted and it was perfect! ?All of the roses were edible and I actually still have them in our freezer. Our Mickey & Minnie cake topper was in a box and not on the cake, which I think looked better without it:

You can upgrade depending on what you want to add, I added flowers to mine
