For our at home reception, I wanted to do the tradition of having a fruit cake, and saving the top layer for the first baby's first Christening. The problem is I don't have a fruit cake recipe. I want to make it myself so that it is better tasting then bought, and we'll have a little card explaining the point behind it. Does anyone have a good recipe they're willing to share, I am looking for one of the ones that uses alchol to 'preserve' the cake and you add it several times over several weeks or months. If anyone could help I would be very grateful.

Thanks
Melissa

I know my Mum has one...if you dont get one posted I'll get the one from her if you wanted :flower:

Ive just seen that we'll be there and getting married around the same time as you! Where are you getting married?

We're getting married at Sunset Pointe on the 6th, and I can't wait. :love2:

We're getting married at Sunset pointe too! We're November 15 - and flying out from the UK for the special occasion :0)

Sorry I don't have a fruit cake recipe though - neither me nor my DH2B like fruit cake so we've banned it from the wedding ;0)

I've always heard that fruit cake is nasty, but I've never had it. I just thought it was a great tradition that would be a fun little thing to add, and a good way to try it for the first time.
