Cake Pricing Sheet

I seen in another thread that someone said they were charging for birthday cakes now on the cruise. They had a pricing sheet which I asked if they could post, but have not seen it. Does anyone else have the cake pricing sheet?

I emailed Disney Cruise line, but this was the answer I got which doesn't really help much.

Dear Sandra,

Thank you for choosing a Disney Cruise Line vacation!

I would be happy to assist you.

We still offer a special dessert to our Guests who are celebrating a
birthday on the ship! This can be arranged by notating the Guest's name
on the reservation for one night at dinner.

If you are booked through a travel agency, please contact your travel
agent to notate your reservation. If you booked directly with our
Reservations Department, please respond to this email with the Guest's
name, reservation number, and the night you would like to celebrate the
birthday.

In addition, Special Cake Requests for private/group functions may be
filled at a cost onboard the ship.

A Guest may request space onboard for a Group Meeting or Private
Function by faxing the request to Travel Services and Operations at
407-566-7336 or via email at DCLFunctionRequests@email.disney.com. Attn:
Group Specialist.

All requests are subject to availability and need a minimum of 4
business days notice.

The following information should be included on the fax:

*Reservation Number
*Sail Date
*Guest Name
*Contact Name
*Phone Number
*Email Address
*What the cake is for - birthday, graduation, retirement, new job, etc
*When/Where onboard the cake should be delivered
*Approximate number of Guests - # of adults & # of Children

A representative will contact the Guest with information and rates.

All events must be paid prior to sailing. Some restrictions apply and
all events are subject to change.

Lastly, you can order exclusive merchandise, stateroom celebrations,
floral arrangements, chocolates, food & beverage, and wines to be placed
in the stateroom on embarkation day by calling 800-601-8455 or
407-566-7000 Monday - Friday 8:00am - 10:00pm (ET) Saturday - Sunday
9:00am - 8:00pm (ET).

Pricing and availability are subject to change without notice.

Here are the dates for ordering all Gift Amenities and Floral
Compositions:

*If sailing on Sunday, order by Friday 12:00pm (Noon)
*If sailing on Tuesday, order by Monday 12:00pm (Noon)
*If sailing on Wednesday, order by Tuesday 12:00pm (Noon)
*If sailing on Thursday, order by Wednesday 12:00pm (Noon)

From the email you received, it appears that there is no charge for the "standard" birthday cakes, but there is a charge for special order cakes for private or group functions. At least that's the way I read it.

That's not how I read it. It says they offer a special dessert for guests celebrating a birthday. The individual mousse thing qualifies as a special dessert.

It doesn't say that they offer a cake for the table of the celebrating guest or even a cupcake for the guest! This is consistent with the reports that if you want a cake for your table, you pay for it. Of course there is cake all over the ship and if you want individual slices served, you can get it.

OK, my opinion--the loss of the standard cake is no big deal. It looked a lot better than it tasted.

The only thing that I've ever done on the cruises (more than once), was the in room birthday package that is in your stateroom on the first day (when you first arrive). There's a yummy cake that's included that was plenty for at least 4 people IMO. I'm guessing that you could take it to the dining room, but not sure as we never did. Here's the info:

I believe you had to add 6% gratuity to the $49 special cake orders as well. We're looking at one for my birthday because our daughter has a peanut allergy. It's totally a piece of mind thing. (and I'm sure the daughter will love the extra decorations)

I LOVE that the "special" cakes are the same price as the standard cakes. I'm so used to having to pay a lot more for a gluten free cake. Nicely done DCL.

Bumping up to see if anyone has the cake prices they can post. We are going on the Wonder 4/17 and celebrating my DD birthday. I was planning on the free cake at the table after dinner, but now it sounds like that is not an option.

That one was is listed on the Disney cruise line site. There has been talk that there is a different list that someone received on board the ship.

Post 6 was quoting the in-room birthday package that includes a cake and decorations. The original poster and I are waiting for a rumored new list for dining room birthday cakes. There used to be a free birthday cake served in the dinining room for the table. Now we are hearing that they are no longer free.
