Cake-On-A-Stick

Has anyone ever tried making cake on a stick? I saw these pans and have seen the little cakes decorated and they look so cute.

Thought it would make some nice treats for DS's 1st grade class, just wondering if anyone has tried these?

I also like the kind you make in an ice-cream cone, they are the absolute cutest things and kids love them!

They look cute but I wonder if they would just crumble as soon as the kids took a bite. Also how do you "dip cake into icing"? I'm not big on stuff I have to buy a special item for to make it.

That looks really cool! I would imagine you would have to dip into icing for the cake to remain in that shape after you bite into them.

I can imagine to dip into "icing" ie powdered sugar mixed with milk or water, you would have to lay the cake onto a plate with icing on it or do like Krispy Kreme and pour icing on top of it.

Could be interesting???

I wasn't thinking about dipping them into the icing, I just thought I would ice one side wait for it to dry and then the other. Hmmmm, now you have me thinking....

Make them rice krispie treats, and then you could frost them white and decorate little ghosts! First graders would love that--they usually just eat the frosting on cupcakes, anyway.

All our treats have to be store bought. You might want to check with his teacher to see if this is true for your school system or not.

Great idea! Unfortuneately if I do decide to buy the pan I don't think it will arrive in time for this Halloween. But it is always an option for next year.

It isn't an issue at our school, thankfully. I love to bake and I love to share with the kids. I can see the point of store bought goods though, I am just glad our school is so small, everyone knows everyone (68 students) so it isn't an issue.
