We will be visiting The World just prior to Marathon Weekend. Thinking about hitting the T-Rex Cafe one evening after the parks close - and possibly hitting up the Rainforest one day while at DAK. It'll just be my son and I. What might the availability be like ? Reservations needed/recommended ? If so, can I do it when we get on property ? Same day ? TIA. :thumbsup2

When you say just before the marathon, you are referring to the 1st week of January, correct? Typically the first few days of January are extremely busy, but even if it is after January 5, I would still recommend reservations, but I would check availability online or over the phone. Good Luck!

We actually arrive January 5. Should I be calling now ?

ETA: Got my rainforest, no prob. T-rex may be the problem child, according to the online reservation tool. We'll have to get creative. Don't suppose with a meer party of two that they could slide us in somewhere day of ? (yeah, I know - wishful thinking, right ?)

They certainly might be able to. You're arriving just as the big crowds are leaving. I'm sure they can get you a table, but it may take some waiting. Also, if you're using the online system, even though you're a party of 2, try booking a party of 3, 4, or 5. The system doesn't take into account there might be a larger table open. I've heard TA do this quite a lot, and we did the same thing for a party of 4 at 'Ohana. We were able to book a party of 5. TA suggest telling the host that a member of your party couldn't make it or there was a change. It's worth a shot.
