Can anyone tell me about recent dining experiences at Cafe Orleans? I don't remember this restaurant being full service, but it's listed that way on allears. Do I have to make a PS?
The search feature doesn't seem to be working (surprise) so any info would be much appreciated, especially pictures!

We like Cafe Orleans. Check out their menu on allearsnet.com

They have a nice breakfast, but I'm not totally sure if it is available every day or just when the park opens early. Lunch and dinner is also good, and offers the opportunity to have a Monte Cristo for a lower cost than those in Blue Bayou.
We always make PS for Cafe Orleans, jsut because I don't want to risk being turned away when I "need" Mickey Waffles or a Monte Cristo!

I haven't eaten there yet myself. But, they refurbished the restaurant into a full service restaurant about a year ago. I don't think you need a PS for lunch, but probably for dinner.

We didnt have a problem walking up and getting a table for breakfast last May. But, it was a weekday and it wasnt too long after they went full service. I think its probably a place that you could call day off and get a PS with out a lot of problems, as long as you had a couple hours notice.

We didnt take a lot of pics, but here are a couple.

walk the plank.......

You don't need a PS but I would recommend it as the wait can get quite long on busier days.

As for food I recommend trying the pommes frites :)

Have fun!

Linda, what an adorable child.

Your breakfast looked good, too. . .

I didn't have a PS but checked in about a half an hour before it opened for lunch and waited only a few minutes once they began seating.

I had the crab salad sandwich and it was excellent! DS had the citrus chicken and really enjoyed it too.

I like Carnation Cafe because the prices are more reasonable, but I would definitely eat at Cafe Orleans again.

I never ate there before it was table service, but finally tried it out for lunch last September. We didn't need PS, but it depends on when you go I guess. I had the crab salad sandwich, and it was excellent! My brother had the ratatouille, which was really good too. It's now one of my favorite Disneyland restaurants!

Thanks, BillyFan.
I saw the menu on allears. I think it'll work for our family, I see something there for everyone. I think the Monte Cristo would be too rich for me, but I am going to suggest it to my son, just so I can have some!

disneyfaninaz: I thought it was a counter service restaurant. I didn't know they changed service. I like the idea of another full service option in the park.

hlbtimes2: Your boy is ADORABLE! Thanks for posting that picture. I didn't know you could be seated right on the walkway like that. Your breakfast looks fabulous, yummy!

kaity230: the pommes frites are a definite. I saw a picture of it on the food porn thread, we might need two orders. ;)

Monkey Monkey: I am planning on making a PS for lunch one day at Carnation Cafe, glad to hear you like it!

Diznygrl: DH likes crab sandwiches, I'll definitely reccomend it to him.

Thanks everyone for responding so quickly. You guys are the best!

We had lunch there and it was good. We did not have PS and waited 4 mintues. It was a weekday and not busy. My kids loved that Chef Remy sent them out a special treat.

It was nice because you got full service without the crowds.

we went for a mid week dinner and it was okay. we ordered the monte cristo (one with meat, one just cheese) they tasted full of grease and it was WAY too rich for our tummies. needless to say we left the park early that night.

the fries were AMAZING though!!

RiverBelle Terrace is CS, Cafe Orleans is full service. :) Dont' know how long it's been that way but that's how it's been for a while now. :) We did lunch there, walked up and waited about 30 min. The girls and I went to the pin store while DBF waited for our table, we walked up just as he was getting called. :) We did lunch, if you do lunch get the Pomme Frittes....they are soooooooooooo good!!!! :) The MC was good and the gumbo too.

My 15 year old son only could eat 1/2 of the monte criscoe sandwich. I had a couple of bites and it was tasty but you could feel the grease on your hands. It tasted like a fried donut/dough with cheese and ham. The Pomme fritts were excellent and my salmon salad was good. Not much variety in the menu. My daughter just ate plain fries. I think if I went again it would be just for the fries. I would make reservations just in case. We went at noon on a weekday and they had alot of people waiting. Lots of free refills on the sodas was a plus. Good luck!

We ate breakfast here this morning, no PS. We walked up around 9:45a and was seated within minutes. The breakfast was very yummy. I had the beignets and DH had the monte christo frech toast (it's basically the regular sandwich, without the ham). He did't like the berry compote that comes with it, so he asked for the raspberry sauce, like what came with the beignets. It's an even cheaper way to enjoy a monte christo, if you don't care about the ham. It was $10.29.

I don't know why I thought this place was CS. I can't wait to try it, seems like most of you enjoyed the meal and atmosphere there. I know DH and I can't handle the Monte Cristo, but we're definitely going to have those fancy fries :) . DS has an iron stomach so I'm going to push the MC on him, after so many years of reading about this sandwich I just have to try it.
Thanks again for all the responses!

This is my favorite dining place in DL! We went 2 days during our 3 day trip last summer. I had the Monte Cristo both times, its delicious! DH had the cesar salad and the pommes frites and they were both very good as well.

Ask for seating outside, the atmosphere is awesome and so is the view! I would get PS for outside seating. Our 1st day we lucked out and got good seats outside. Our 2nd day it was all reserved and we had to sit inside... outside is 100 times better!

I know that this is gong to sound crazy, but is there any way to get this food to go? I really want to try the pommes frites, but when I go on the 10th I won't have time to sit down, wait for a waiter to take my order, and wait for the waiter to bring me the check.
