Cafe Orleans

Unfortunately, a quick glance of DL menus doesn't show another location selling them.

For those of you who thought this was a counter service restaurant. For years I enjoyed my Cafe Orleans CS meals. . .we would get our food and go sit outside. A couple years ago. . .or less, not sure, my son and I were at the land and they were in the process of the conversion from CS to TS. . .DL is trying to upscale some of its dining experiences to compete with the World. . .this and the French Market were always our fave dining experiences. . .

I have not eaten there since it became a TS restaurant so not sure about the food though, just wanted to let everyone know that it really was once a cs restaurant. . .

mom2nenas: Do you make the request for outdoor dining when you make your PS? Or is it upon availability after checking in? I'd definitely want to be seated outside.

AmericanItgirl: I totally understand. I hate having to stop for a long meal when we're on the go at DL. The early lunch time is also valuable ride time, and the later afternoon crowds at the restaurants are just too much to handle. I'm going to make one dinner and lunch PS and the rest of the time we're going to just do CS.

nurse.darcy: I thought it was CS the last time we were there. Thanks for confirming that.

We were there on Saturday and we were SO GLAD we had ps. There was a huge line outside of people waiting, and twenty minutes after we were seated there were still walkups waiting that had signed in before we got there. They did not look very happy.

If you can, make PS. It's nice to not need them, but it's even better to have them when you do need them.

We ate dinner there in September. Slow season but we still made a ADR/PS. There were walk up people waiting.

We sat outside and it was really nice. However, it isn't fast service, you need to be happy to sit and relax and enjoy your meal (which was what we wanted anyhow). I wouldn't recommend trying to rush through a meal here and be stressed.

We had the freshly prepared seafood herb crepes and really thought they were delicious. Also, the chocolate crepe souffle for dessert - really yummy! We tend not to pick greasy/heavy/fried foods so these dishes were perfect for us.

I noticed they have the New Orleans gumbo on the menu. Didn't have it at Cafe Orleans, but if it's the same as we had years before in a bread bowl at the soup/gumbo corner - it was really good.

We never tried it when it was a counter service place so this was a pleasant surprise for us.

It's a nice addition to Disneyland dining. We like having more choices of full service restaurants that are not character dining.
