Leaving very soon:) Just can't decide between the two (or I guess we could always try both....will be there for 3 days.

I keep reading really good things about Cafe Orleans, but the menu looks bigger (have a picky daughter) at Carnation Cafe...have also read some good things about that restaurant too.

Opinons please

Thanks,
Lisa

We love both! Carnation Cafe would be cheaper. If your DD likes PB & J, they have a fun PB&J Palette. The sandwich comes out on a painter palette, with the toppings in little cups. Very fun! :goodvibes

I have dined at both and I prefer Carnation Cafe. It is quick, easy, cheap and yummy. The kids love the PBJ thing.

They are both yummy, but I'd probably pick Cafe Orleans because I love the pomme frittes & monte cristo.

Review the menus and decide? ;)

I love both places but I prefer the Cafe Orleans menu for dinner. I like sandwiches for lunch and that's when I go to the Carnation Cafe.

Since you're going to be there for 3 days, and neither place is expensive (like, say, a Character meal or a meal at Blue Bayou) I'd suggest doing both! They're both not to be missed, IMO.

Must try at Carnation Cafe'- the loaded baked potato soup...it's pretty much legendary here on the Disboards. :cloud9: The pot pies are also delicious (especially the turkey/cranberry one that they have during the holiday season).

Must try at Cafe' Orleans- the pommes frites (another thing that's reached legendary status here ), either of the soups (gumbo or French onion...both delicious), Mickey beignets (CUTE and YUM!).

I say, go to both! I tried the Loaded Potato Soup a couple weeks ago for the first time and I have to say it was delicious. I'm actually having cravings for it right now just typing about it. we also love Carnation Cafe for breakfast.

I love the Carnation Cafe. That is my favorite restaurant at Disneyland, actually. I usually get the combo of baked potato soup and half sandwich. The ice tea is is delicious too! It is a very relaxing place for lunch. I remember when I fist started going to Disneyland and made reservations there I was worried that it would be too hot to eat there outside for lunch, but the tables are very shady and peaceful. It is fun to be on Main Street and people watch, too.

I have 2 picky daughters and I'd vote for Carnation Cafe everytime! First and foremost for the Peanut Butter Pallette!! My girls can't get enough of it. It's the one meal that we have to wait for them to finish. And then second the potato soup, it's very yummy. Cafe Orleans is good, but quiet happy kids always wins. ;)

Try both, my girls are both very picky and they both love the Carnation Cafe and Cafe Orleans. :) Actually I think my girls prefer the CC for bfast over lunch but that's because of the massively huge cinnamon rolls. LOL

i think the carnation cafe has a more kid friendly menu, your child might enjoy more, but the cafe orleans in my opinion has better food for lunch.

For breakfast, I really like the Croissant Benedict at Carnation Cafe. For lunch my faves are the Meatloaf Stack and the Chicken Croissant Club. The Baked Potato Soup is wonderful.

Cafe Orleans no longer does breakfast. The appetizers are all wonderful, and the Salmon Salad is my favorite salad at Disneyland. The Banana Bread Pudding for dessert is AWESOME.
