Hi everyone it's our first trip to dlp in June and just trying to plan what to do whilst we are there.
We are staying at the sequoia lodge sun-thurs and would really like to book something with the characters.
Me and my daughter (almost 4 when we go) will be having lunch with the princesses - can anyone suggest a place for lunch for my husband and son (6) whilst we have our girly time?
Also I really want to have either breakfast, lunch or dinner at cafe mickey if this is available midweek in June!? If so does anyone have any experience of which is better? (We already have breakfast included at the sequoia)
Any help greatly appreciated. Had heard about the brunch at inventions with the characters but we don't arrive until Sunday afternoon so that's out of the question.
Was also considering the buffalo bill / Wild West show is it called!? But unsure on that yet and whether its worth the money.

Hi I cant help with cafe mickey of bbwws havent been yet. Im sure someone who has been will come along soon :)
Rainforest cafe may be a fun idea for your husband and son or pizza planet (toy story) although this isnt always open. Hope you have a great time :yay:

I prefer going to Cafe Mickey at lunch times, the resturant is a bit quieter as the majority of people will be in the parks. I would still reserve a table there in any case, better to be safe than sorry. It can also be done on the cheap buy ordering a pizza to share.

Don't bother with Pizza Planet, it's just a counter service resturant which is hardly ever open.

I've not seen BBWWS since Mickey and his friends were added to the show so we have booked it for our trip next month. The food is OK but I realy enjoyed the show last time I saw it. There are not many dinner shows on this size around and well worth the experiance. If you like cowboys, indians and the wild west it's great fun. The horse tricks and buffalo are fun to watch too.

You can get tickets cheaper for BBWWS from places like ticketnet.fr.

Thanks that's great.
I like the sound of the pizza planet for my son and hubby as they love pizza! Is the theming in the restaurant good? Would they need to book here or just turn up?

Think we will definately have to see the Wild West show it sounds brill. Is mainly for our son (6) as a lot of other things seem more geared towards girls with the princesses etc. so that would be for him x

I'm the same - I prefer Cafe Mickey for lunch or dinner. I know it's potentially a bit more expensive than breakfast but I think it's overall better value.

I also haven't seen BBWWS since the characters have been added but we enjoyed it - the food was much better than I was expecting and the show was great fun.

What sort of meal do your DH and DS want when you and your DD are at Auberge? Are they thinking sit down table service or counter service ie quick snack although to be honest there's no such thing as quick counter service at DLP! :rotfl:

We love dinner at cafe mickey and its a must do for us but the brekfast was a rip off soooo expensive and food was horrible, can't advise on lunch as we have never been.

Hi

we have lunch and dinner with the characters but never done breakfast.
Micky cafe is alright but you get to see the characters. as all the tables are close by other kids often run up to say hi which is understandable, Normally if it a birthday all the characters come around the table singing to you. but mickey cafe isn´t inside the park it just as you come into the village.
Lunch: from 12pm to 3pm.
Dinner: from 6pm to 11pm

But if your son likes woody and buzz light year then i would say go to Cowboy Cookout Barbecue in Frontierland, Disneyland Park. when we were there was a country and western band playing music and the characters get people up to dance, they also pose for pic and autograph, The food is fast food which am sure your son will love but go and check who's and on what days.
Lunch: from 12pm to 3pm.
Tea Party: from 5pm to 6.30pm.

Lunch or Dinner with Disney Princes & Princesses
It is really nice for little girls, we took our daughter twice once for dinner and last time was for lunch which is fab.In disney hotel you can pay for a princesses makeover and photo shoot which we did before going to lunch with the princesses. The only thing i didn´t like eating with princesses was it was a set menu and some of the things i wouldn´t eat plus it is abit pricey.

Inventions
This our first place that we ate in on our first viste to dlp.
It not cheap €50 for adults and €35 for kids, but you can eat as much as you want, and I certainy got my monies worth in king prawns and sirloin of beef!
pancake, sweets, there is something for everyone. but if your eating there at night sit beside the window because u can see the fireworks.

The wild wild west
not bad your kids might like there are horse and characters doing the cowboy.
when you enter your big arena and get given a cow boy hat. So there is the Blues, Yellows, Greeens and the Red's. The food is nice but messy as you use your hand if i can remember so have some wet wipes handy for the kids. However they keep refiling your drinks. You get chilli and toirtia chips first. Then a selcetion of Meats and potatoes.
It´s a good night fun for the family, we done this in florida in 2006 and in dlp in 2010.

Just a tip when your having breakfast in your hotel in the morning a lot people take food from the hotel to feed themselves for later in the day so u don´t have to spend money buy snacks.:thumbsup2

Cowboy Cookout no longer has characters and there hasnt been a tea party there for a while now

We did breakfast twice at CM, and found it to be average. Soggy bacon, powdered eggs...and ok character interaction. We won't be doing it again (and only did it twice as we had prebooked)...

We also have been once for a late lunch, DS and I had pizza which was very good, but DH ordered some chicken dish and it was dreadful. All dried out and drenched in some sauce to cover the dryness. And it was quite pricey.

We'd only go back if ordering pizza...we found it too expensive to gamble with again.:rolleyes2

I think it might only be €25 for children.

And OP - don't pick this restaurant if it's your only chance to view fireworks. The train station completely obscures the view of the castle, so you'll only see a couple of the higher fireworks - and in DLRP they really don't have many fireworks anyway.

You're not really meant to do this, but people do. Which is a shame as it means the breakfast offerings suffer to try and deter people.
