The character interaction at Cape May has always been consistent in my opinion no matter what time I've been there so I can't imagine that you will be disappointed.

It was great. We have been a few times to Cape May and it is one of the better character breakfast buffets. One time, we had one of the later breakfast reservations at Cape May and were one of the last families there. They shut the food down to one side of the bar only, but still kept fresh food out and the characters came by a couple times and really played with my children. IMH, it is one of the better character breakfasts at WDW.
