I know they're hard to get in the US, but up here in Canada, I love-a my caesar's (kind of like a Bloody Mary).

Does anyone know if you can get them on board? We'll be on the Wonder. Or if I can bring Clamato etc., to make them?

On a similar note do they make a decent gin martini on board? DH loves them, could he bring olives on board to make one in the room?

You can bring anything you want to make your own cocktails. You'll have to carry it on though.

Being from cow-town I love a good Caesar (and a good bombay martini!) can't wait for your answers!

Never heard of a Caesar so can't help you with that specifically. But did want to share that my DH ordered a 7 and 7 at dinner, and the assistant server didn't know what it was. However, it wasn't a problem to get it once he told her what was in it. And they were really cheap compared to everywhere else he orders them. They're usually about $7-$8 per drink around here, but were $5.25 on the Dream.

The problem with telling them what's in a caesar is it's clamato juice for a mix, and they likely wouldn't have it (It's tomato juice mixed with clam juice, sounds gross, but it's awesome with vodka, and the spices they put in it).

Hellofellow Ontarian! I highly doubt you will be able to get a Caesar. My dh and bf love them and bloody marys just don't come close. Your only option would be to pack the clamato in your checked luggage into Florida and then transfer it to carry on bag when you board the ship. I don't even think you can get clamato over the border .... Though i could be wrong.

Clamato is available in the US, but you might not be able to find it in all stores.

When I opened this thread I thought you were talking about a salad. ;) I've heard of a drink called a Bloody Caesar, I'm guessing that's the same thing?

Good luck with that. Best to bring your own ingredients for a toddy before you hit the decks.

I don't recall seeing any on our last DCL cruise, nor did I inquire, as they are hard to find in the U.S. (DH tried to order one once and the waiter asked what he wanted on his salad). I suspect that you can get Clamato juice in a few larger places in the U.S.--HAL offers Caesars on their cruises, so there must be a supplier close to Ft. Lauderdale.

I know my uncle found it when he was in Florida, but I couldn't find it last time I was down.

I should post the recipe, they really are fantastic drinks!!

We have Clamato available at even gas stations around here. The Albertsons I work at carries 3 sizes....... odd, never thought it was a strange item, as we seem a lot of it. The Walmart across the street carries it, Safeway and Roseaurs carries it too.

I love Ceasar's, I don't like using regular tomato juice it's too thick. I live in SC and Clamato (and Beefmato) is in all grocery stores here, it's on the juice aisle by the V8 juice usually top shelf. Like others have said bring it on board and I'm sure the bartenders will accomodate you.

What I can't find is Clamato rim trim for your glasses, it's only distributed in Canada and oh so good, so I'm going to stock up in July when I go to Nova Scotia.

Have a great trip!

The bars should have Clamato juice. As a former bartender many years ago back in MI that is what we used in Bloody Mary's.

On my Jan 2012 Wonder MR cruise, one of the tastings was a bloody mary tasting. Hey had the clamato and made us Caesars as one of the variants. The bartender told us they stocked the Clamato because the Canadians were requesting it.

Can't confirm your crazy frozen tundra drink, but the good folks in Sessions on the Magic made a fantastic gin martini. They had some good brands and a bartender who know her business. They even did a martini tasting, although most of them were abominations like Cosmopolitans.

I believe you'll be able to find Clamato in most any big chain grocery store. It's no problem to find around here at Kroger, etc.

We love Caesars in Seattle! We usually order them as "bloody Caesars" so it is not to be confuse with the salad. :thumbsup2

Thanks! DH will be happy! He is fussy about his gin....

Now we can both have our drinks without compromise! :woohoo:

Can't tell you how many times I read this as "my husband and boyfriend love them..." before my wife pointed out that bf can also mean best friend. Ha!

hey you! how are you doing, yes I can say they make a great Martini (sp) mine was made with vodka, but I noticed a very nice selection of gin. If you are concerned about finding Clamato on board you can call the DCL info line and ask. If they say no and you are concerned about getting across the boarder just let me know I will make sure to get you some.
