Cable in the Pet Loop

So excited! Been to Disneyworld 3 times before but never stayed in FW, going with family in rv June 3-10. I read in a guide that there in no cable in the pet loops. Can anyone tell me if this is true.

I'm not sure but I will tell you this: Cable at DW is really not worth the money. I think it's now about $9 a night to stay at a preferred site. This gets you a cable hook-up.

We just got back the 29th of January and had a ball. We really didn't watch much TV because we were at the parks so much. Even when you're at the Fort there is a lot to do there as well so the TV just isn't on a lot. The other thing about Disney cable is the channel selection. Blah! About 10 channels are about nothing but Disneyworld promotional stuff (cruises, rides, Vacation club, etc.). It plays over and over and over again. About 10 other channels are in foreign languages. The others are ok, but nothing special.

All this from a guy who has THREE tv's in his travel trailer!

I have a different opinion on the cable situation. We do like the cable even though we are away from the camper at night. I like having the tv to turn on in the mornings, at breaks, and before bed. Silly as it may seem, we watch the Disney channels when we turn it on, though. As for cable pet loops, yes there are some. I know 300 is a preferred pet. (preferred meaning there is cable) There are some overflow preferred pet and there may be another preferred pet loop besides 300. I'm sure someone else can tell you what the other loops are.

Count us in as one of those that like their cable. Our kids get a kick out of watching the old (realllllly old) Disney cartoons, and we like being able to access the weather channel. Since we have pets, 700 loop is our favorite!

We've stayed in a preferred pet loop, 300 I believe and it had cable. I liked it because we got the silly WDW channels that annoy people so much. For some reason I need that to really feel like I'm part of WDW (strange, I know). Just a few pieces of advice: make sure you bring your own coax cable; if you don't have a cable hookup on your RV (like us) then buy a flat coax connector which can fit between the window and the frame; also, for some reason I needed a cable booster for our hookup. Maybe I had bad cable but when I first connected it to my TV the picture was kind of fuzzy. The booster cleared it right up though. Of course, my booster was sitting all nice and pretty back home so I had to run to Walmart and buy another.

yes, there are pet loops with cable. full hook ups e/w/s/cable concrete pad etc... Bring your own white cable (lol. coax) like the poster above stated. I liked leaving the tv on for the dog! Really, it cuts down on "outside noise" that might get her barking! We always poop scoop and no barking allowed is our motto. With a/c and cable tv - it's like a vacation for her too!

Thank you all so very much for your input. We are going with our adult children and our granddogs, no grandchildren yet! They are 2 adorable ****zus. They also like the tv on when we leave them in the rv. Also my hubby cannot go to sleep without the tv on. We did book the full hookup for the week in June in the pet loop but they could not tell me what the site number would be. Hopefully it will have the cable.

There is pretty good reception at FW with a reasonable number of stations (network, fox, upn, etc), so if you are in 1600-1900 pet loops (no cable) and have an antenna on your camper, you can still get tv. To me, it just isn't worth the expense to have the cable so I can watch resort tv with the same countdown of attractions over and over.

If you booked a full hook up pet site it will not have cable. You have to book a "preferred pet" site. The "preferred" = cable.

We stayed in 800 loop over Christmas and figured the cable was worth it just to keep our little dog from feeling too lonely. She is used to this at home and you can often find her lying on our bed listening/watching TV.
(I think this keeps her from hearing some of the outside noises.)

Also, our antenna isn't that great, plus the crank decided to break on our August trip so we needed a wrench to get it back down.

I just called Disney to see what I booked exactly, she said I have a preferred pet site with cable. She could not give me a number but she said if I preferred a certain loop she could try and put us there. I told her I was not really sure what pet loop as long as I have cable. Thanks to everyone for there input.

To us its not a Disney vacation without resort T.V. We are used to the hotels so when we started camping at Disney the cable t.v. was a must. We always stay onsite so resort t.v. is all part of the Disney magic to us.

What are the rules about leaving your pet unattended? Is there some accepted length of time? I thought they couldn't be left at all, but that would be very difficult.

The only rule is that pets can not be left unattended inside canvas (i.e. tent or pop up).

Other then that it is up to you as to what you feel comfortable doing as long as you pet does not become a nusance. Constant barking will cause the CMs to have a talk with you or in extreme circumstances cut your vacation short.

Make sure your pet is comfortable and safe with things such as sufficient water and air conditioning.
