We will be traveling with a 8,7 & 6 year old. We have the cabin booked but I’m thinking of changing it.
Any advice ?
pros and cons of each ?

Why are you thinking of changing? We love the Cabins. The kids will have real beds and not pull outs with the Bunk beds at the Cabin. Fort Wilderness has so much more to do for kids the ages of yours. You don't have to worry about noise. It has a full size Fridge.
There is just so much more at the Cabins I DEFINITELY would keep the Cabin

My dd at 10 was frustrated"us girls" could not just ditch the guys and walk to the shops etc. You have to bus everywhere.

I really like aoa suite too. It was comfy and set up better than the cabin. Having 2 baths was a better thing.

However if you plan on cooking then the cabin has a full kitchen and outside picnic table.

We have stayed in both and love both. Personally, I prefer the cabins, but it mostly has to do with the ambiance at Fort Wilderness. I just love it there. Also, you get a bigger kitchen and a dining room table and a picnic table with a grill. It’s absolutely wonderful. That being said, if your children love Nemo or Cars or the Lion King, they may very well like the suites better. To me, the main thing the suites have going for them over the cabins is 2 bathrooms. But whichever you pick it will be amazing! Have fun!

Don't know if you are pool people, but AoA does NOT have a slide at the pools and it does NOT have a hot tub/spa/jacuzzi. Fort Wilderness does have a slide and spa..... Value resort pools, though they may have cool theming, don't have slides and spas like moderates/deluxes.

We are also a family of 5 and there are many pros and cons to each resort. AoA, mom and dad have their own bedroom and bathroom. Kids sleep in the dining and living room area on a fold down Murphy bed or pull out sofa and have their own bathroom. The bunk beds at the Cabins are in the main bedroom with mom and dads bed and there is a sofa sleeper in the living room area. Not to mention either mom or dad have to sleep up against the wall and there is only the one bathroom.

The cabins have a large kitchen, full size fridge with ice maker, microwave/convection oven, three burner cook top, patio charcoal grill, dishwasher and full size 12cup coffee maker. Also includes all plates, glassware, pots, pans, silverware and coffee mugs. I know what you’re thinking, “I am not cooking on vacation”. Mousekeeping will load the dishwasher everyday for you. So go ahead and fry up the bacon and eggs before running off to the park and it’s all cleaned up when you get back. AoA has a kitchenette with a microwave and a dorm room fridge. There’s a small stack of paper plates, disposable silverware, ice bucket and plastic cups.

At AoA As long as you’re in a suite you’re pretty close to the main building and the food court. The cabins aren’t close to anything and require you to ride an internal bus or rent a golf cart to get to a pool, a gift shop, a playground or just about anywhere. However, one of the families favorite things to do is just ride around in the golf cart and tour the whole campground. So many things to see and do while there. Some are free or at minimal cost.

Long story short is if we could have the sleeping arraignments of the AoA suite at the cabins They would be perfect for us. Only you can decide what better suits your family.
