We are also a family of 5 and there are many pros and cons to each resort. AoA, mom and dad have their own bedroom and bathroom. Kids sleep in the dining and living room area on a fold down Murphy bed or pull out sofa and have their own bathroom. The bunk beds at the Cabins are in the main bedroom with mom and dads bed and there is a sofa sleeper in the living room area. Not to mention either mom or dad have to sleep up against the wall and there is only the one bathroom.
The cabins have a large kitchen, full size fridge with ice maker, microwave/convection oven, three burner cook top, patio charcoal grill, dishwasher and full size 12cup coffee maker. Also includes all plates, glassware, pots, pans, silverware and coffee mugs. I know what you’re thinking, “I am not cooking on vacation”. Mousekeeping will load the dishwasher everyday for you. So go ahead and fry up the bacon and eggs before running off to the park and it’s all cleaned up when you get back. AoA has a kitchenette with a microwave and a dorm room fridge. There’s a small stack of paper plates, disposable silverware, ice bucket and plastic cups.
At AoA As long as you’re in a suite you’re pretty close to the main building and the food court. The cabins aren’t close to anything and require you to ride an internal bus or rent a golf cart to get to a pool, a gift shop, a playground or just about anywhere. However, one of the families favorite things to do is just ride around in the golf cart and tour the whole campground. So many things to see and do while there. Some are free or at minimal cost.
Long story short is if we could have the sleeping arraignments of the AoA suite at the cabins They would be perfect for us. Only you can decide what better suits your family.
