Just got my Docs today for 3-day Wonder 04/06/02. We booked Cat. 10 GTY and had our fingers crossed for possible upgrade.

We of course got exactly what we paid for, Cat 10 - Deck 1. I'm not complaining, we still got a great rate from DU. We were just hopeful because it was supposedly full ship and were are repeat cruisers. I think it is because we are sailing with another couple and we linked our ressies together so we could dine together. (We even ended up in connecting cabins!)

Has anyone stayed in section of the ship before? Looks quiet enough as the hall is closed off next to crew quarters. But could be bit of a pain not being able to walk striaght back to rear elevators and tender area.

Thanks in advance, Steve

I had more than one question about the noise on Deck 2 while I maintained a "Let me answer your questions, 'live' from the Magic" thread (<a href="http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?threadid=38440">link</a>) during our 5/26 Magic cruise, so I went down to Deck 2 and did my own evaluation.

While I was at it, I checked out Deck 1. The only rooms on Deck 1 that I suggest avoiding are 1030 - 1037, so you should be fine with the rooms you've booked.

I was in 1072 in January and really liked the location.... it was quiet...... and we often just took the stairs up to deck 3 where there is a lot going on. Besides..... there was a funny smell on Deck 2..... not sure what that was...:(
