Just wondering if free cabin upgrades are ever offered at port check in? We are going on the 11 night southern in June.

The rule of thumb is that if you ask for an upgrade, you will have to pay for that upgrade. If Disney upgrades you on their own, then it's free. Typically free upgrades happen before you would arrive at the port - DCL typically gives them to free up inventory in cabin categories that they may have a better chance of selling or if they need to block of stateroom(s) for maintenance - things they would know in advance of embarkation day. If they are giving you a free upgrade at the port, that typically means something has happened to your stateroom - probably during the last sailing.

So 99.9% of the time at the port, upgrades are NOT free. If there are upgrades available, they would at least be at a discounted price!

If there are still cabins available, upgrades may be available at the port but they won't be free. After completing your check-in, you can go to the upgrade desk and check whether any upgrades are available. (If the ship is full, there will be a sign saying something like "Captain Mickey reports that the ship is full and no upgrades are available.") The cast member at the desk will look up the level of the room you booked and consult a document listing the upgrade costs for other cabin levels from that level. The upgrade cost is usually less than the cost would be if you changed your reservation in advance.
