I am currently booked on the Wonder for a 7-night eastern in ocean view 2504.

I was looking and I can change to 6652 - which is a whitewall verandah at the back curve of the ship for $715 more.

I have never stayed aft before, but I always hear about them, though this is not the true rear facing you can get on the Dream Class.

Anyone stayed in both areas to compare? Or advice on the verandah one?

I do not care for the white-wall verandahs on the classics as you cannot see out while seated - or at least I can't. But, I do prefer aft.

we were upgraded to a handicap accessible room above the room you are looking at. The Room and Veranda were HUGE!!! Didn't mind the location. Didn't take a lot of advantage of the veranda - just not in the room that much. And for us it's either to windy or to hot!!

Earlier this year we were on the wonder on deck 5 forward (room 6 I think) deck two rooms start a bit forward of those on deck 5 (looks like your room is about 4 rooms forward of where we were). I was pleasantly surprised at how much we liked the room location. As per usual, I slept soundly to the rocking and rolling of the ship.

That being said, we will probably continue to book rooms on deck 2 midship - like the pricing better, and in reality, I need those extra flights of stairs to help keep the activity level up (chant with me: "Eat More Desserts, Eat More Desserts...")

I've never stayed on deck 2 but have had a nav verandah many times. I don't mind being aft (fewer stairs up but long and flat for exercise to get mid/fore) and it's nice for me to sit outside with a wee bit of privacy. I guess it depends on how much you plan on using the verandah- when my parents had an inside room and I had a nav verandah on our AK cruise my mother was on my balcony every am with her coffee, every pm with a book, and every evening after dinner. My dad I think stepped on it once. I am always using a balcony for fresh air, reading, watching the world go by. If you're more of a go, go, go person it might not be for you, especially for a higher cost.

Thanks. The only real reason I am pondering it is there are three sea days and I cannot take the sun of all day at the pool - and I abide by "no reserving chairs" so I was thinking it might be nice to have a place I know I can hang out and read - and come and go as I want without having to search for a chair.

It's a nice little area for reading- I usually pull the second chair around and prop up my feet. I'm a big fan of a little privacy in the middle of a ship.

Thanks all! I decided to go for it - well, I went with 7134, but still... The more I thought about it, the more I really liked the idea of having a guaranteed place to hang outside even with coming and going. Who knows...maybe this'll turn me into an aft girl. :P

Aaaaaaand... Welcome to my crazy mind. LOL.

Back to Deck 2. 2004 for the time being unless 2504 opens up. 2506 *is* open, so if anyone has any thoughts on that one vs. 2004 (besides the "but you see CC on Starboard as I actually like the natural side of the island)...

7504 is open, and I typically like higher, but it's connecting, so while I've never had issues with connecting staterooms, I'd rather not push my luck. There are some on Deck 5 up towards the front...I'm just iffy about being on the same deck as the kids' clubs.

I just look at that price difference and go "That's MORE than an excursion's difference..." LOL. Yeah, I can be nutty.

Lol, I get it! The difference from Cat. 9B to 9C is $70 for our cruise...the room is 2 away from mine...why am I going to pay an extra $70 to be 2 rooms closer to the center of the ship...yeah the window is a 'little bigger'...but the room is also closer to the hot laundry room, I'll stick with my cheaper room! $70 will buy me a few drinks!

Several years ago we were right across from whichever club was on deck 2 on the Wonder(it was moved to a higher deck at dry dock). Never heard a sound or had a problem with kids running around like crazy. Also stayed on deck 5 on the Fantasy by the Oceaneer's club and didn't see/hear anything from club. $715 is a lot, but it really sounds like you would enjoy it and use it. I say go for it.
