Cabin rental around Christmas that is pet friendly

DH wants to rent a cabin around Christmas time for a few nights. We would prefer to bring our golden retriever with us, so pet friendly would be best. I personally hate the thought of this, but he is really wanting to go someplace "cold with a view". I don't even know where to begin looking--TN, KY? I don't know. Any suggestions? I also want it to be budget minded. I prefer to go in the days leading up to Christmas, not over Christmas or after. Thanks!

Close to you, Tenn is probably going to be the best bet, but in general, if you are speaking of this Christmas you have probably left it too late, especially if you are trying to get one in a park, which is usually the most affordable option. Christmas is *the* date to get a cabin in the mountains, most families who do this book it at least a year in advance if not two.

Do go ahead and try the agents who have property near Pigeon Forge; the sheer number of properties available around that area keeps prices reasonable.

In the NC mountains, is a wonderful place called Leatherwood. I did a quick check and it looked like there were some nice pet friendly choices around Christmas.

We've stayed there 3 times and just love it!

IN WV there are cabins in the New River Gorge area. There are also some great cabins near the ski resorts--Canaan Valley, Snowshoe and maybe Winterplace but if it's going to be snowy, the ski resort areas would probably be harder to book.
