What is camping in q cabin in November like? What does the camp ground look like in florida in autumn anway? Will it be warm enough for swimming? Is there any kind of water slide at the pool? Thanks.

You never know about central Florida. We went in Jan. once and it was sunny and in the 80's for the week and we wore shorts the entire time. About 3 years ago we went in November over Thanksgiving, and it was cold. It would have been too cold for us to swim. We were wearing jeans and jackets in the mornings, but it would get comfortable later in the day and cold again at night. One week it can be hot and the next very cold, but luckily it has never rained on us that time of the year. The only real problem we had was one December when we packed mainly short sleeved shirts and it was around 30 degrees one day. It seemed like everyone in the parks were surprised by the temperature drop and were buying sweatshirts, jackets and gloves! You probably won't really know until closer to your trip.

This is a funny thread because last Thanksgiving DD and I stayed at FW and I mostly brought long sleeve T-shirts and the whole time I was roasting. When we returned last month I brought short sleeves and froze. I did have a jacket though. Moral to the story is....... bring a little of this and that.

Actually, November is one of the best, mildest times of year in Orlando. Mid-day temps around 70-80F, and evenings low 60s F.

The campground is primarily large Florida (yellow) Pine with green needles, and pine-cones, and scrub oaks. A variety, including Live Oak and Water Oak.

As such, sorry to say there is no "autumn." :-(

Occasionally you will see a Red Maple living throughout the Florida "forest" slash -- and those trees indeed will turn a brilliant form of Red. But the temps in Nov are just too warm still to see any real change. Not even Disney magic can get them to change.

The water is still good for swimming and you will find the temps rather comfortable.

The adage is true -- it will always be more warm than more cold in Florida in Nov.

Have a great time!!

We went last December (first week), it was cool in the morning and at night but warm in the days...We brought a back pack to the parks, I put on my warmer clothes and carried shorts, in the middle of the day the bag got a little heavier but it came light again at night...One day I forgot to bring my warmer clothes thinking it was going to be warm all day and FROZE... I almost bought alot of expensive clothing....So I'd say middle of the day would be great, early morning and evening colder from what we experienced in December

You mean this past Thanksgiving? Maybe the days after Thanksgiving, but 2 days before Thanksgiving it snowed in Central Florida for the first time in years, it was in the 30's at night and 60's during the day!

I remember wearing a jacket to Disney on Thanksgiving, but then again, us native Floridians break out ski jackets if it gets into the 70's....lol

I hear ya Colson. I arrived Thursday night and do remember it being chilly but Saturday and Sunday all I had was long sleeve T's and I was on fire. Monday we went to the MK after checking out and I forgot I had about 3 nice T's in the coat closet. DUHHHH. The drive home was more pleasant. One thing about a camper is they're cold as heck or hot as heck. I don't recall just a comfortable temp unless of course it's at a time when the weather is 60'ish and you have the windows open.

I'm hoping to meet you folks Thanksgiving. This is DD and mines 4th year coming up so I guess now it's tradition. We also have a ressie June 4th-9th and June 29th thru July 8th. I will be doing nothing but relaxing and relaxing. I see lots of cooking, swimming and forgetting the outside world really exists.

Ahh, ok, yea, by Saturday or Sunday it had warmed up a lot more than it had been earlier in the week. Too bad you weren't there a couple days before, you would have been nice and chilly (I don't even want to tell you how cold it was crossing the Lake on the way to the Magic Kingdom :/ )

Yea, we'll be there at Thanksgiving, we normally meet our parents up there after they've been there for a few days, so I always know what site we're in before we go up. But don't get me starting to think about Thanksgiving, it's still too far away and I'll go crazy!!!!! lol ;)
