I checked the Passporter and it says to avoid 2502....I just found out we were upgraded to this room....anyone have any comments?

hope u find out the anwser i could not tell by looking at the deck plans. as it show no cabins above u or below u so maybe it is some sort of other area....

Also I check out a website for cabins in cat 9 that u could switch to and they would not give any cabin numbers only a garantee in cat 9 also in cat 8 ...

i found this posted by another poster...

(Yes, I have stayed in this cabin.
You are about as far forward as you can get on the ship. The hallway narrows and curves - and you begin to feel as if you are one of the only ones on the ship. However, I dont think this really matters - I have taken 6 disney cruises and have been about everywhere on the ship - and I will swear by the fact that you feel less movement forward and lower in deck- than aft.
However, there is only 1 room beyond yours @the front of the ship and for some - thats a bit overwhelmng.
You are under the barrel of laughs night club // which most nights includes loud singing and foot stomping...a sing along piano bar.
You may also hear the music from the nightclub - which is forward but a little in the middle. Most of the rooms from about 2516 and forward can hear the night club beat thru their ceiling.
If you are early to bed -then you will be miserable. They used to stop around 2a.m. If my memory serves me correct (this was about a year ago)
My feeling about your stateroom location is - if you can move - great. Have your TA try - never hurts to try. But, dont take anything within 10 rooms of the back of the ship. Look at what you are under - if you are on deck 2 - you want to completely stay away from the night clubs, if you can.
If you go further back than 10 rooms - then your room is likely to vibrate from the engines (I have also been in 2152- which is the last room on the bum of the ship. And it vibrated and clanked all night. It was horrible.
Disney is wonderful about putting you elsewhere, if you are unhappy though. If they upgraded you - they may not willingly want to put you in another room in that category - from the reservation office. There is a reason you were upgraded to that location. So if it were me - wait until the ship leaves Port Canaveral. Until the ship actually leaves the port- you are subject to your travel agent and the port manager and reservations- so if you bide your time - and wait to ask for another room- you will probably get a location that is not directly under the night club and works better for you. Go to the pursars desk - right after the sailaway party to inquire about your options.
If the ship is not sold out (and you will know if it is) ... your chances of a better location or even room are perfect for you.
The down side -is that you have to move your stuff once the ship moves. Which can be a hassle- especially if you have early dining.
One word of interest - Disney cruise tends to put cast members-who are sailing for their own interest - directly under the night clubs and usually holds these rooms for cast....
If you have any other questions - let me know.)

I stayed in 2504 on the 2/28 Magic and loved it!! The room is a good 4 feet longer then the other cat. 9 rooms because of the curve at the front of the ship. It was really quiet. We were in bed by 11 pm most nights and had no problems sleeping! My dh is a light sleeper, so I know it was quiet! The only time we heard noise was when the anchor was coming down in Grand Cayman. Another nice thing is that there wasn't any foot traffic infront of our room and also, no rooms across from it. I can't figure out why it was listed as a noisy room because it definitely wasn't. I plan on booking this room again in the future. Our cabin steward Nicole said that 2502, 2504, 2002, & 2004 are all bigger cat. 9 rooms and they take longer to clean. I hope you enjoy it like we did. If you have any questions, please ask.
:D

And I was in 2506 and concur, I was happily relieved after seeing our # on the "noisy list" and then getting there and being totally unable to determine WHY it would be there...we were very satisfied with the cabin and would stay there again in a heartbeat!

Thanks for your replies....

I guess I was just concerned about the noise. I am estatic about being upgraded.....usually we are up late and are probably noisy ourselves but DD would be in bed before any of the nightclubs shut down....

anyone else stayed in this room?

My two dd's 5 & 3 slept just great in 2504. They were so tired at the end of the day that nothing could have woken them up. I never once heard any nightclub noise. Enjoy!
