Cabin 2144

Our TA just reserved cabin # 2144 port side aft for 10/12 Western Caribbean.

Can anyone tell us if this cabin location is ok with respect to noise et al. We sailed last year in cabin 2520 and it was incredibly noisy since it was below one of the nightclubs.

The good news is that you definitely won't hear any noise from the nightclubs. The bad news is that you will probably hear noise from the engines and the screws (propellers). 2144 is pretty far aft, in the area where rooms are prone to hear that (potentially not-so-)low rumbling.

Per your advice, I contacted my TA, who changed our cabin # to 2114. I hope this one is better, since there is very limited availability on 10/12 sailing for cat 9 (cat 8 sold out) under FL Res. discount.

Dave, any thoughts on 2114 you could share with me?

It's a better location, but is still on the fringe of Dave's warning list of Deck 2 cabins. 2114 is located above the aft tender lobby. So, on port days, there may be noises from opening of hatches and setting up of gang planks early in the morning, and possibly some noises from passenger traffic throughout the day.

It <i>is</i> on my <a href="http://www.dcltribute.com/faq/deck2noise.htm"><font color=blue>list</font></a>, as MFan mentioned, but I don't recall why that was. It's definitely a better location than 2144, and it is convenient to the Aft stairs/elevators. It doesn't have a connecting door to an adjoining room, so you probably won't hear your neighbors. This should be a good room.

This cabin just became available due to a cancellation...we booked rather late for the 10/12 Western Carib, but we just couldn't pass up the FL Res deal, which was the same as we paid for last years 12/15 Eastern.
