Cabanas, Ranchos or Casitas?

Cabanas, Ranchos or Casitas? We are booked CSR Water View and have never stayed there before. Is there a lot of difference between these areas? Looking at the resport map, it looks like Cabanas would make sense because they are halfway between the big pool and the main resort. Suggestions you CSR vets?

We requested Cabanas and were able to get it. We had like a garden view and could also see the quiet pool. We enjoy the Cabana area as it reminds us of CBR which is one of our favorites.

They all have their benefits.

Casitas are very nice and very close to the main buildings. We loved staying there because it was so convenient to run over to the Pepper Market, our favorite CS on property.

Ranchos are in my opinion the best themed. We loved the cactus and SouthWest look because we're from the North and never see that. However, they are very far from the main building so you'll need to hop on a bus or golf cart unless you don't mind walking. They're close to the Dig Site though.

Cabanas seem to be most preferred on this board. They have a beautiful sandy beach and are very close to both the main building and dig site. We stayed in building 8 last time and still thought it was a pain to walk to the PM though. We weren't crazy about this section, but it was okay.

We liked casitas the best for convenience, but would love to stay in the ranchos for our next stay. The walk isn't terrible horrible anywhere on the resort, and the transportation is wonderful, but sometimes you just want a short walk to fill up your mug late at night

I would pick Cabanas...close to main building and still not too far from main pool. JMO.

Depending on what you want to be close to, here are some good building choices.

Cabana 9b is close to bus stop 1 and the main building with a short walk to the Dig Site (main pool) over the wooden bridge. Most convenient location and most preferred.

Cabana 8a is close to the Dig Site (and playground) and bus stop 4 with a short walk to the main building. (Closest to the Pool)

Cabana 8b and 9a are in between the 2 above. 9a has a quiet pool.

Ranchos 7b has a quiet pool, is close to the Dig Site and bus stop 4 with a bit longer walk to the main building. 7b is behind cabana 8a.

Casita 1 is attached to the main building and is very close to the restaurants.

Casita 3 has great courtyard and fountain views but you will have to walk or ride the internal shuttle to get to the pool.

Casita 5 has some nice fountain and lake views and is close to the Dig Site but farther from the main building. Close to bus stop #2.

We have always stayed in the Casitas section. We have been in Casitas 1, 3, 4 and 5 on our six previous visits. Casitas 4 and 5 are our favorites because they are very close to the quiet pool and to the spa (which I take advantage of while there). Now, I walk faster than my husband, and it takes me about five minutes to walk to El Centro from Casitas 5 and about seven minutes to walk to the Dig Site pool. If my husband is with me, it takes probably ten minutes and twelve minutes. We love the fountains by the Casitas section. As for if we are close a bus stop, I couldn't really tell you because we rent a car while we are in Florida.

Casitas is the first bus stop for all parks with the exception of Downtown Disney. The busses for DTD come through the front gate and not the side gate.

We always get a waterview also and have been in 7b. We liked it enough the first time to request it the 2nd. We will be hoping for it in September. The quiet pool is right there and the Dig Site is a 30 second walk.

I stayed in Casita and Rancheros. I don't remember the Rancheros number but Casita was 5. I liked the Casitas much more. Such a beautiful view. But not what I'd call "near" the main building.

I think it is personal preference, though.

We've stayed in Cabanas twice, I think in 9b and 8b. In 9b, we used the main bus-stop #1 and we were close to the main building. In 8b, we were close to bus-stop #4 and it was still only a 10-12 minute walk to Pepper Market.

I haven't made a building request for our Sept stay. I am kind of hoping for Casitas, to try something new, but don't want Ranchos - too far for a quick trip to refill our mugs!

We stayed in Cabana's 8a. It was convenient for us because the kids enjoyed going to the Dig Site pool in the afternoon, and it was less than 1 min. walk there. El Centro and Pepper Market were less than 5 minute walk (but it's an enjoyable walk, so we didn't mind).
I believe you'll enjoy CSR wherever you land!

We liked Casitas - we stayed in 5. My husband wanted to be close to the gyn (Casitas 4) and it turned out to be great place for the buses. The Dig Site walk was not far. Planning a trip for Aug. and still debating CSR vs. AKL, but if we are at CSR, then we will request Casitas 5 again.

We love Ranchos 6A. About a 5 min walk to Dig Site, 10 to El Centro. We were right at bus stop 3, which was a HUGE plus for us. I thought Ranchos section was the quietest area of the resort, and loved the themeing.

I usually make my requests via the phone. I never booked a room on-line.
