Are cabana’s available for rental at Typhoon Lagoon? If so how much are they, how many adults and children do they accommodate? Last but not least do you think they are worth it?

We have rented those shacks a few times, and I have such happy memories of the experiences. I don’t know current prices and in any event you will have to decide if the price is worth it to you. It definitely was for me but it is a splurge.

We've done it twice and love the cabanas! There are three different types. Make sure you get one with enough chairs for everyone. Our first time, we got the one that seats six but you can pay a little extra and have up to 10 people. We had 10 of us and figured we'd all be coming and going all day anyway. Nope! All 10 people wanted to sit for lunch, relax when lines got long, etc = wet kids on laps. Our second time we had 7 adults and 8 chairs and it was wonderful!

We enjoyed our cabana at TL as well. However, there was one time when the attendant wasn't properly "guarding" ours while we were off enjoying the amenities and we came back to find strangers sitting in our cabana seats -- with all of our personal items strewn about no less. So not a good experience that time.

I worry about crazy things and this is one of them! I hope you didn't have an issue reclaiming it!!

No, we didn't have any major issues (other than attitude from the guests who swooped in)...but it was offputting to say the least. Because, even if it weren't a private cabana, I certainly wouldn't go claim a spot with other guests' bags and items clearly present etc. The attendant didn't even notice this on his own...we had to track him down and alert him. Maybe it was his first day or something... I'm sure after that he's kept a closer watch.

We just had one at Typhoon this past Thursday. After taxes it ended up being just over $400 for their most basic option. The largest one would've been $100 more plus tax. Some things to note:

As someone else said, if you're party size is larger than 6 then get the bigger one. While they do allow up to 10 in the standard unit, our group all noticed that it really would've been cramped had our group been bigger. We had five so it was perfect but no way I could've imagined 8 in there let alone 10.

The area where ours was located was in a roped-off section. The rope was let down once we were let in but they kept the sign up that said "reservations only." Also, I think all the chairs in the area that aren't cabanas are the umbrella chairs that require reservations too so that likely help keep those out that shouldn't be there. They also gave everyone wristbands to signify that we "belonged" there but there was never a time where we had to show it to anyone. We thankfully didn't have any problems with people in our cabana.

The attendant we had was great. They give you a number to text if you need anything and she responded very quickly. Even when we didn't text, she would check in on us at least once per hour to see if we needed new towels, more water bottles, or additional food/drinks.

They have family packs on the cabana menus that aren't available when ordering in person. By Disney standards, the pricing was much better than ordering separate meals for each person.

I don't know if it was a one-off when we were there that day but although she was very attentive, it seemed like it took a long time to get anything we ordered. By long time I mean at least 30 minutes, even for bar drinks. I know that's not necessarily the attendant's fault because everything was hot when we did get it but when the park's only open 7 hours, 30+ minutes isn't insignificant. Had I known that beforehand, I would've ordered and then left to ride more things and then came back later. Rookie mistake I guess. It didn't help that we lost about 2 hours of park time due to two separate storms but of course it never stormed while waiting for food.

Make sure you bring cash to tip your attendant. When we got the bill at the end of the day, there were two tabs. One for the bar and one for the food. The bar tab had a tip line but the food tab did not. So I said I would just put the proper tip for the combined total on the bar tab and she clarified that the tip line on the bar tab is for the bartender only, not her. So I asked how can I tip her (was using magic band to pay) and she said the only way she can be tipped is with cash. Thankfully I had cash so all was well but had I not, I would've felt really crappy. They should change that.

Was it worth it? That's obviously subjective but I will say I'm glad we had it. Especially due to the storms because they clarified that they are safe to stay in during the storms even if there's lightning (which there was that day). But I still felt $400 was pretty steep, especially considering how much better the cabanas are at Volcano Bay for the same price. But, if and when we go back I would do it again just for the convenience of everything and guaranteed shade.

Did you bring a cooler bag or notice anyone bring a cooler bag with food?

Love the cabanas and we also did the shell and the umbrellas (idk if they still have those). Well worth the money but definitely reserve in advance!

You can bring a cooler with food. You can't bring anything in glass containers. Larger coolers or backpacks larger than 24" long x 15" wide x 18" high (61 cm x 38 cm x 46 cm) are not allowed in any theme park or water park. Loose or dry ice is not permitted in these containers. Re-usable ice packs are recommended

We just did a Deluxe (middle tier) on Sunday, with 9 of us total -- 5 adults, and four kids, from 10 months to 8 years.

We had a wonderful day. I would not have wanted to do the park with this crew without a cabana. The unlimited bottled water, the family platter food options, all the towels we needed, and the refillable mugs were all great, but more important was the comfortable "home base" for all of us to come and go.

I will say that I feel we were very lucky with the shack we were assigned. It was #13, right beside a drink refill station (although some of the selections were not working) and a restroom, and more importantly, very close to the Crush and Gusher pool. It was so great to have easy access to a wonderful area for the kids (and adults!) to swim. We noticed other areas of shacks that were surrounded by sand, without easy access to a swimming spot. It was so hot that I can't imagine kids being covered in sand, and not being able to swim nearby. I might not have felt so positively about a different shack.

One note, our attendant DID say we could add the total tip to the bar tab receipt, and it would be distributed appropriately. I hope that was the case, because that is what we did!

It was absolutely worth the splurge for us.

Wow, Disney is nothing if not inconsistent. Either that or my attendant just wanted cash because she specifically said that's only way I could tip her.

In April of this year I watched a family bring in a LARGE Yeti cooler - it took two guys to carry it. Nobody said anything to them, I was shocked.

We’re a sucker for the water parks and shacks/patios and do them often. My experience matches yours, that the tip line on the bar tab only goes to the bartender. I always bring cash for the cabana attendant.

It wasn’t all that long ago that the cabana attendants weren’t allowed to take tips and you had to do the silly offer three times/basically force them to take it routine. That changed over the last couple of years, fortunately. But I do wish Disney would update their systems / the setup to allow for tipping with one bill /credit card.

We like to book a Cabana for our stay next year for the first time. Can you ask for a cabana and is there a map with the locations as we would love one more quiet. Like to hear everyone enjoyed their time.

You book 60 days out and just book whichever level of beachcomber you need. They are assigned when you check in.
