Cabana: Give me tips to increase the odds, please!

I'm gold, sailing a 3 night on the dream this summer. I booked the cruise after the platinum/concierge/gold members already had access, but before silver and first timers. Once I finally booked and logged on there was one cabana on the family beach and at least 2 on sb, so it is possible to get one. Best of luck!

I would check several times a day. You've got a chance with sb especially. Years ago as silver we were able to book one on sb about a month before the cruise. Who knows...you may get lucky

Do you know where Port Adv is on the Fantasy, and are they open immediately when boarding begins? Thanks.

Deck 5 midship, yes they should be up and running as soon as boarding starts.
Good Luck!

They use that principle for Palo and Remy - you can only book one ahead (ok one dinner and one brunch but still) for each restaurant and then check on board.

Actually you can book two dinners for either now, but one has to be for embarkation night. When booking dining, you will see the following.

New Online Reservation Opportunity
You're now invited to make 2 dinner reservations at Palo during your cruise, as long as one of your reservations is on the first night of your cruise. Reservations are subject to availability and a specialty dining charge will apply.

Same thing for Remy

Thanks. That is so new I forgot about that.

I still maintain that you should only get one shot at a cabana per cruise prior to boarding.

About Cabanas, if I checking-in 2 separate reservations on Check-in date (under the same account) how does that work for trying to reserve a cabana for both parties to share the Cabana?

(Does that make sense!?)

This is not correct. All I've ever needed to do is refresh the browser and the links were there for check-in, excursions, etc. The site requires you to logon again after a certain amount of idle time, but it's not related to whether it's midnight in Florida.

Having said that, I only use Firefox and Chrome for this. I don't use IE (or Edge) for anything if I can avoid it, so I can't comment on that particular browser requiring you to logon again.

I was lucky enough to get a cabana as a Gold CC member doing what other posters have said. Stalk the site and check several times a day until you see one open up. Good luck getting one. It's an unforgettable experience.

pirate:
My experience, if I was logged in prior to midnight - couldn't access reservation info. Even clicking "refresh" didn't do it. It seemed the DCL site only recognizes when I logged in, and that it was before my access time opens.

If I waited until one second after midnight to log in - good to go.

How many people? Total, between the two rooms? Each reservation (on Family Beach) covers 6 people. You can add up to 4 additional people for a maximum of 10.

Each room can only book one cabana.

We have 5 people (2 adults, 3 kids) in 1 room and 2 adults in a connecting room. 7 total. Would I be able to reserve the 6+1 extra under my check-in/excursion? I just didn't know how to reserve 1 cabana for multiple staterooms. I had to link our reservations so they are both showing on my account at least.

Thanks Shmoo!

Thank you

Actually Port Adventures on the Fantasy is Deck 3...

I think you should have to pay for excursions when you book them. I think this would prevent families from booking up all the cabanas and good excursions on day 1 and then later they realize they have over committed and release what they dont want.

Totally agree with this - this is how other cruises do it too right? I was surprised how many cabanas were empty on our cruise last time around, I wonder if others know about the waiting list

I thought port adventures was on deck 5 on the fantasy also. Wonder and Magic have it in deck 3
Well, according to the deck plans - on the Dream class ships, port adventures is on deck 5 port side between the Buena Vista Theater and the atrium.

On the Wonder class - deck 3, starboard in the atrium.

Sorry. My fault. Common sense (and everyone else) has them with/close to Guest Services. Even the Classics they are on the same level.

Way to stupidly confuse things Disney.
