We stayed at Cabana Bay Beach Resort from April 17-April 21. Just wanted to give a quick review and post pics.

There were four of us staying in a Poolside Family Suite. Myself, DH, DD10, and DM. We chose Cabana Bay for the family suite set up, wanting separate sleeping quarters, but not wanting to pay for two rooms. This was our first ever trip to the Dark Side, so none of us had any previous experience at a Universal hotel (or Park). We are huge WDW fans, and the Polynesian and Beach Club are our favorite resorts, just to give a little background.

First of all, we all loved the theme of the resort. DM was born in the 50's so she especially loved it. We found the grounds to be beautiful, and the amenities were quite nice. DD LOVED the pool. The weather was a little cool when we were trying to use the pool, so she usually was the only one willing to go in. DH LOVED the Jack LaLanne Fitness Center. He actually chose to shower there every day!

The resort buses were incredible. Seems like every time we walked up to a stop, a bus was either waiting for us or just pulling up. We never waited for a bus. The ride to the parks was quick. Not one complaint with the bus.

We ate one meal at the Bayliner Diner. It was delicious! No complaints there.

The room itself was smaller than I imagined. It was comfortable, though, and the large closet was quite nice. I wish there were more drawers in the bedroom. Aside from that, our two biggest dislikes were:

1. The walls are very thin. Soundproofing from outside the room seemed adequate, but we could hear noises at times in the walls. Perhaps from the elevator?
2. There wasn't a fan in the bathroom. Not in the toilet area or the tub area. Not only did we miss having the fan for it's usual purpose, we like to leave the fan on at night in a hotel to drown out noises. Perhaps that would have kept us from hearing the noises that we thought were from the elevator.

Overall, we truly enjoyed our stay and would stay again. A lot of people commented about not getting Unlimited Express with this hotel. That was easy to fix for me, I just purchased it with my tickets. The total cost was very similar to what I would have paid at Royal Pacific, except we had separate sleeping quarters, which was important to us.

I have lots of pics to post as soon as I figure out how...lol!

Thanks so much for taking the time to review. Great job with all those pics you were very thorough! Pretty cupcake. :)

I'll be there next week this was very helpful.

Thanks! We'll be staying there in June. Did you use the Sonic Fill cups? Just wondering how the coffee is and whether Dr Pepper is available.

We did use the Sonic Fill. It was easy and we felt it was a good value. The coffee was good! Not sure about Dr. Pepper, sorry!

Looks great! Thanks for taking the time to post those for us.

Management at the hotel has stated that all bathrooms are constantly vented through a new system that has the motor deep within the wall so you don't hear it. You might want to use a white noise machine instead. I found some online that work great and there are also aps for them. I prefer to have some nighttime white noise while staying at any hotel.

You're welcome! We did use a white noise app on our phone after all. I can say that the noises didn't cause a serious problem for any of us, just something we noticed. Certainly wouldn't prevent me from staying there again :)

Erin'smom, thanks so much for the review. I really appreciated the detail, and the pics.
