Hi..I rented a cabana for a 1/2 day in August at the HRH. It's me, dh, ds 8, ds 5, and dd 2. It costs $50. The selling point for me was the ceiling fan-I know it will be VERY hot there and I am NOT a sun person. It includes a fridge with water and soda (I think) and has a table and chairs.

So give me some opinions..is it worth it?? $50 is a bit steep...what do you all think??????

Thanks......

Lisa

I think it is well worth it. I rented a cabana for two whole days last week for $75 /day and felt it was worth it all the way! You know that no matter how crowded the pool is (which it was last week) you have a comfortable place. You get the 4 chairs and table, two lounge chairs, the tv, phone, and fridge. When we had the whole day, we got 6 pops, two waters, and a bowl of fruit. They also have the towels there so you don't have to get them. I'm not sure if the pop and fruit would be included for 1/2 day, but you could call and check. It was great in the evening to sit in the cabana and watch tv. You get service at the cabana for drinks and food if you want. We had cabana 1 which was closest to the bathroom and the beach club. Also had good sun, and shade by late afternoon early evening. Did you reserve a particular one??

Hi..yes, I believe we're in 8. I had read in another post that that was a good one if you had small kids since it's near their pool.

I guess it is worth it because I'd have it from 3:00 to the end of the day. The pool would probably be most crowded at that point.

Thanks for the opinion...any more info about that or the hotel in general will be appreciated!

Oh yeah, some posts are saying that pool view rooms are very loud. We have one, and I'm wondering if I should switch to garden view since I have the small kids. Any opinion?

Thanks again...

Hi,

Who do I call to rent a cabana? Does anyone have the phone number?

Thanks :)

Teresa

cabana 8 is good, you are right by the wading pool and the sand beach. Would probably be fairly shady I think. Is also close to the slide.

I would think you would hear the music in a pool view, or at least the bass. I have a problem sleeping with that bass beat going. I think they played it till 10:00 when we were there. We had a garden view and didn't hear a thing. Bear in mind too that a lot of pool views under floor 6 don't see much because of the big palm trees all around. I opted to just pay garden view because of those factors.

In oder to rent a cabana, call the hotel direct and ask for the fitness center. Tell them what day you want, what cabana, if you have a preference, and give them your confirmation number to reserve. Call 1-407-503-2000.

We loved those cabanas. I rented one for our checkout day and left our bags with the concierge. We were able to enjoy the pool and relax in comfort before heading out to catch our late flight home.

We've never been to US. This is the first I've heard of the cabanas. Are they right by the pool? How many are there? They sound great!

There are 10 of them at HRH. They are probably 8 ft? square tents that can be open or closed (like drapes) on any of the 4 sides. There is a tv, mini fridge, table and 4 chairs, as well as 2 lounge chairs to the front reserved for you to sun on. They provide the soft drinks (6) and water (2) as well as a bowl of fruit. It is $75 for the whole day, $45-$50 for 1/2 day (3-10 p.m.) They're great cause you will always have a spot at the pool. They kind of circle the perimeter of the pool. There is a map with them noted somewhere in these threads. You could do a search for cabana map.

Thank you so much. I will do that. When i "peeked" into this forum I had no idea that there was so much to learn about. I just thought US was a lesser competitor for Disney with out all the frills and theming etc. I am finding out how wrong I was.

We rent a cabana for our entire stay every year - to us it is worth it. We go for 10 days in July and it is the best respite from the heat. We reserve #10 because we love being on the end, it is quiet, with lots of sun, across from the slide, and the kids love the volley ball court. The kids come in and out of the cabana as needed - drinks, shade, etc. We order pizza from Flippers and have it delivered for lunch at least twice. (Being a new yorker, we are very picky about our pizza and Flippers has very good pizza). We bring drinks, and snacks down from our room and it becomes "home base" for the day. Every morning they will place a "RESERVE FOR ......." sign on the table. When we go to the parks or early dinner we put the "reserve" sign back on the table when we leave so they know it is still occupied. We always come back for a night swim and I get to watch the tv while the kids are swimming.

Hope this helps.

Deb;)

Thanks for the post and great info guys! I was contemplating renting a cabana but after reading this post I felt compelled to rent one!

We are arriving May 17th after spending 5 days at WDW. Since this is our "Move and Rest" day we had planned on spending it at the pool anyway.

I called and reserved cabana #8. Tried to get it just for the half day since we'd be arriving mid day but was told they don't do half days on the weekend.

Can't wait!! But unfortunately I have to...

I just called HRH and reserved a cabana for our arrival day, June 7th. (We are staying at the Wyndham Orlando the night before). They only had 2 left for that day, #'s 1 & 3. I have #1.

I thought someone said (in another thread) that # 10 was right by the speakers? So isn't that noisy?

Boggydoll,

#10 might be by the speakers, I am not sure to tell you the truth. If it is, then it is not any nosier than the cabanas around us. The people right next to us last summer had a napping infant in their cabana daily and they rented the same cabana every day too. I just like the local of the cabana itself. We reserve this cabana every year on the last day of our stay for the following year; for us, this one is our favorite. But everyone's opinion differs.

Hope this helps!;)
