Cabana Advice

you shouldn't have too much issue on day 120. its never been sold out at 120 days for me...so far.

Finally Platinum, and advice in securing a cabana????
Way to go! We've never had a problem getting one, just checked online and reserved one as soon as we were eligible.

Enjoy your meal at Palo and your choice of boarding time. That about exhausts your perks, but they're not bad.

Sail on the Wonder or Magic and you have a much better shot at getting one.

I agree chances are better on Wonder and Magic. There were family cabanas available at gold booking window on our last cruise on Magic.

RE; Fantasy.

Off season;
Occasionally there is 1 / are 2 SB Cabanas @ 120 days.
All the Family Beach Cabanas are gone before 120 days.
Good availability prior to 125 days, if you know how to ask. ;)

Peak season;
All SB and FB Cabanas gone before 120 days.
Less availability in the summer, "prior to 125 days", even if you know how to ask.
May depend on cabin level. :scared1: Word is getting out how to book at 125 days apparently.
Shoreside is letting everyone know the rules at the same time now.
Shoreside is even educating the newbie how to book their wishes, unlike prior.
Learn the rules.

Expect more price increases. IMO :crazy2:

All info related to Fantasy as implied.

Of course as others have mentioned anyone can cancel, so keep an eye out.
Especially 7 - 3 days out.

I second the PP about booking CL if you want a Cabana, especially on the FB. And definitely if on the Fantasy.

I also second the PP about booking Magic Class to increase your chance for a unit.
Especially if you want a FB unit.

And fwiw to all the readers, if you haven't been to Castaway Cay before, you don't need a Cabana.
In fact, unfortunately, even if you have a Cabana, there is a 7 - 10% chance you won't even be able to dock at CC to enjoy said Cabana, so ..... keep that in mind fwiw.
Just thought I would remind everyone again. The ship often can't dock regardless of clear skies.

Have fun,
regardless of whether you ascertained an over priced temporary shelter.

Good Luck and smooth seas to all.

are you saying there is a mysterious way to request a cabana?

we got what appeared to be the last available cabana on our wonder cruise - we are gold and i did stay up to try and book. i was surprised we got one. i've seen people say to keep checking as well.

the cabana itself is lovely. there were 4 of us and i think for 4, it wasn't a good use of our money, but we did it because we took my MIL and a large group of us had had one once before and she expressed interest in doing it and we thought it would be an easier day on her as well? i think now i believe they might be a better deal for say, 6 or more people. but thats us. good luck!

So you are telling me I got wrong info from DVC???? : )
They said Concierge is the same booking timetable as Platinum, hopefully at 12:01 i'll have a chance.

The difference being that Concierge guests can put in requests to the shoreside concierge team up to 125 days out, and those requests are automatically entered into the system automatically when it opens for reservations at 120 days. Platinum guests must log-in themselves at midnight on that 120 day point. At that point, the concierge requests are already entered.

Enjoy your cruise!

I just sailed on the Magic and I am platinum. Here is my experience:

I sailed on the the 11/20 and 11/25 (Thanksgiving) sailing.
When my booking window opened, I was able to secure a cabana on the family beach (#2). Also available at 12:00am were 2 other cabanas (#17 and #18) on the family beach and 2 or 3 on Serenity Bay. All the other cabanas were taken.

Much different experience for the Thanksgiving sailing. When I logged on at 12:00, I think there may have been only one cabana on the family beach available, but someone was a few seconds quicker than I was securing it! So, I was able to secure 2 cabanas on Serenity Bay. There were 3 available there and everything remained sold out on the family beach.

My takeaway from this is that if I want a cabana without sailing concierge, I need to be on the Magic or Wonder and not be on a holiday sailing.

Definitely keep checking! I am only silver and I was able to get one for our cruise last January (Fantasy) , AND for BOTH of our B2B cruises coming up this January (Magic), still a bit shocked by that :) In fact, to my amazement, there has been a SB cabana available for our first leg of the trip for about three weeks now!

Both for our cruise right after Christmas this year and out our cruise right after this past New Years, there were two cabanas on SB when I checked in at 90 days as Silver.

I got a cabana for our Dec 24th cruise on the dream - we are gold, there were some available for a number of days after our booking window opened.

I am gold and was able to get a cabana at SB on Fantasy for January 23rd sailing. There were others available too at the 105 day mark.
