Cabana Advice

I am Platinum, last year on the Magic Christmas cruise I had my choice of several. This year for Fantasy Christmas cruise all were gone at exactly midnight.

... are you saying there is a mysterious way to request a cabana? ....

No, not at all.

Only one way to get a Cabana.
Nothing new. Just follow the rules to the letter.
No special secrets, except booking CL.
There are no secrets to ascertain a Cabana.

It's still a game though at 125/120 days unfortunately.

"Priority is now given to the newbies who book/contact CL. IMO / IME "
That is the new/current recent parameter, unknown to me, in the past.

They know now the regulars will book again, so they are not a priority anymore.

They are disposable. They are moving on.

Once DCL knows they have you, and your $$$, I feel they could care less.
And it's showing lately. Even applicable to the CC Cabanas.

Depending on your view point, of course.

DCL .... @%!(&%

Just FYI for all who are getting optimistic by all who are posting success in January/February for Gold/Silver members on the Fantasy. Likely the only reason they are seeing availability is because they are sailing in the slowest off season of the year. Other higher season times of the year, on the Dream/Fantasy, pretty much the only chance Gold/Silver have is grabbing a cancellation.

There are basically four things that one can do to help oneself be successful in booking a Cabana.

1. Book Concierge on any ship.
2. Get to Platinum (Still may need one of next two items to be pretty sure of success)
3. Sail in off-season.
4. Sail on a "Classic" ship. There are fewer concierge cabins so chances are better for the rest of us in "Second Class" Cabins.

The more of items 2,3,4 that you can qualify for, the better, of course you really only need #1 but at Disney prices, well, enough said on that.

Having these four items in mind, one still has to log in right at midnight, navigate quickly to your cruise, make and confirm your Cabana reservation immediately. Concierge just make a phone call at 125 days.

Sure, things happen and there may be an occasional opening for Gold/Silver in high or holiday season, but this is not the norm.
