Cab out of Contemporary

I'll be visiting MK on New Years Eve and would like to avoid the monorail if possible. I'm not a Contemporary resort guest, but if I pay for valet parking, can I park there? If not, can I get a cab to and from Contemporary if I'm not a guest there? Also, does anyone know how hard it would be to get a cab on New Years Eve?

Yes; yes anyway (you don't need to be a hotel guest to get a cab at the hotel); and good question . Cabs will probably be harder to get that night because people won't want to drink and drive, but eventually you'll be able to get one. Just go to the Bell Desk and tell them you need a taxi.

It might harder to valet park there on New Years Eve if your not staying there or don't have an ADR, because on a night like that they only let those in by car who are staying there or have confirmed ADR's.

You have to balance the long wait for the monorail with a long wait for a cab.

It may be the same. Also traffic is crazy at that time.

Two NYE's ago someone posted live reports of their ordeal getting out of the Epcot Parking lot. At maybe 12:30 1:00 they were in their car and then it got crazy. It seems like every half hour there was another post and the report was they moved 4 car lengths.

Anyone remember that thread?

If you take a cab on NYE, the "time waiting" charge could get expensive. Just a heads up.
