Where do we ask to get off? Do we go to the Boardwalk and walk from there or can we be taken all the way to the International Gateway? I've never gone in that entrance before, but we want to check it out for when we go drinking around the world.

You can go to either BW or BC. But you can't get dropped off directly at the IG. Either resort is about a 5 min walk to the IG. There's really nothing all that special about it. Just a bag check and the park entrance turnstiles.

Thanks for the info! :)

Do you (or anyone else) know if the walk would be shorter going from BW to World Showcase or from Epcot's main entrance to World Showcase? We're trying to minimize walking and outdoor time any way we can, since I can't handle heat (I need the a/c when it's 70 degrees out!) and we're going the last 2 weeks of August. That's the only reason I thought of this entrance, I thought it would be less walking.

Keep in mind the World Showcase does not open until 11:00. You can enter through the IG at 9:00 and walk up to Future World but I don't think that would save any time vs going through the main entrance. If you are going after 11:00 it could save you a little time but a word of warning - WS is very hot during the day in the summer. There is little shade. If you need to avoid the sun, I would plan it for later in the day and the evening. If you do cab, Beach Club would be closer and more shade.

Like Debbie said, it can be very hot in WS during the summer. So I would go early evening. I would say the shortest walk would be from the Beach Club. They drop you off in front of the lobby, walk straight through, and take a left on the walkway to IG. Boardwalk would be a little longer walk, but you would get the scenic walk.

The least amount of outdoor exposure would be taking a taxi to the Beach Club, walk through the length of the Beach Club lobby, past the Marketplace store and Sandcastle Club and follow the signs to the small quiet pool, walk around the perimeter of the pool and out the gate. It's the closest point from a resort to the IG.

The least amount of walking would be by taking a taxi to the Boardwalk Inn, go through the lobby, out the opposite side, walk down to the Friendship Boat Dock and take the boat to the IG. You'll be outside more, but you'll walk less and the boat goes directly from the BWI to the IG.

Walking from the front of Epcot to the WS is not a short walk. You could hop, skip and jump between buildings, but if you're looking for the least amount of walking and/or outdoor exposure, I wouldn't recommend this.

Thank you all so much! It sounds like we've got the best plan for the circumstances now. :thumbsup2 We're not planning to do WS until 5pm that day, and we have reservations at Biergarten at 7 so I can cool down in the a/c. We're going on a night when WS is open til midnight, just because I figured that would be easiest on me. Each day, no matter what we're doing, we've got looooooong breaks built in to cool off. :goodvibes

The Beach Club is closer than the Boardwalk. The walk along the Boardwalk and over the little bridge area is uphill and hot, hot, hot. My kids will hug the fence to get some shade!

As a PP said, enter the Beach Club lobby, turn left and head toward the Marketplace (the food/gift shop area), keep going until you can turn right, you'll pass some rooms, follow the signs to the quiet pool. Then you'll need to exit the building, go around the pool and turn left. The walk once you are outside is about 5 minutes and mostly downhill.
