We have a breakfast reservation at Boma at 9:30 am.

Is our only option a cab from the Bay Lake Tower to the Animal Kingdom Lodge?

And if so about how much does that cost?

Thanks

To give you a general idea, I took a cab from AKL Jambo House (where Boma is) to the Transportation & Ticket Center at about that time of day. It was a 15 minute ride. I paid $26 including tip.

We take cab's often to make our ADR's and generally the costs are between 24 to 28$ a ride of that distance I would allow 20 to 25 minutes.

A cab is your best option. You can look up the fare at taxifarefinder.com

You could walk over to MK and get a bus to AKL, but buses don't typically go from the parks to resorts at that time of day, you should plan on it taking a while.

I disagree I think the early morning 8am-10am buses arriving from and returning to AKL or any resort are pretty much a steady and frequent stream. At least in my experience.

I agree with the PP I think getting a bus at MK would be fine...especially if it is EMH morning at MK.

If AK has early morning hours I would just take the bus to AK from BLT, then get on the AKL bus at AK. It is a five minute ride and the bus stops at Kidani are not that long. I would build it up in my mind like I was headed out on safari with other travelrs from around the world--then whatever happens, happens...DH would get a cab.

We've had the unfortunate experience of waiting 45+ minutes for a resort bus at a park in the morning. As mentioned, the majority of the buses are heading INTO the parks. Not outgoing. So the buses picking up at the resort stops were few and far between. This has happened to us three times now, with our longest wait being at AK. OP, if you want to chance this, I'd probably walk to MK and wait for the AKL bus.

Right there with you. I went to DHS one morning from AK...I think it was the first bus that pulled up or maybe it was EMH I forget. I waited at least 45 minutes on the BLT/Poly/GF bus.

Where do you think the buses that are dropping off guests at the park go to when they are empty? Back to the resorts. A Transportation coordinator is at the bus area and can make sure that you get a bus to AKL. Be at MK between 8:00 and 8:30am.
